Inflated Pricing at Checkout 9/1/2014

Having visited a few times and enjoying my experience, I can't say the same after today's shopping experience. After looking through which project to start next, I decided on the Merit German Flak 88mm kit. I was happy with the price of the kit which is listed on their website and after requesting their pricing in person at the store, I decided to purchase the kit. During the checkout process, the owner proceeded to open the kit and look through, showing signs of regret for verifying the ~$40-50 price. He then began to look up the kit online and told me cannot sell me the kit until the following day. I was told the kit was found online for roughly ~$200 dollars and that he cannot sell the kit. I find this to be extremely poor business practice as both the website and internal pricing in the store has the kit listed at one price yet inform the customer that they will be charged a different considerably higher price at CHECKOUT. Unfortunately, I am incredibly upset as I ultimately decided on that model and my respect for this establishment has severely been diminished. more

Unbelievable disrespect toward a prospective customer. 12/13/2013

My wife, Daughter & I went into Micro Macro Mundo Hobby shop on 12/12/13. I was interested in buying a 1/10th scale RC car. I was ready to make my purchase that very same day, but the owner was so incredibly rude that both my wife and I left the store feeling horrified at the way we had just been treated. I asked the owner, a elderly man who sits in the front of the store if I could take a look at the car in the box before I made my purchase, he rudely responded that this wasn't a show room. I politely said that I wasn't familiar with this RC model and that I just wanted to see its quality before finalizing a purchase of a $273 item. He rudely said if you want to learn about it go online and look it up. I was trying to keep my cool, because I was still very interested in the item, so I asked him one more time politely, if I could look at the car because I was already in the store, and didn't want to have to go home and look it up on the Internet just to decide on purchasing an item. I am also the kind of customer that likes to look at an item in person before I purchase it. He also has signs posted right in front of the door opening saying that once you purchase an item there are no returns. How can a customer be expected to want to buy a $273 RC car that they cannot even look at knowing that if once they open the box if the item is defective they cannot return it. These items often travel all the way from Asia and may be damaged in transit, it is only logical that you would want to open the box and take a look at it before finalizing your purchase. My family and I are very well educated and well spoken, my wife and I are both in are mid 30s, so there was no justifiable reason for the rude treatment we received. The owner sits in the front of the store and has a large mirror in front of him, he speaks to you looking into the mirror, not even taking the time to speak to you to your face. Please, do not help keep this man in business. There is no reason to disrespect a customer the way we where disrespecte. :( :( more
