go-to place for summer concerts 8/27/2005

Merriweather attracts a variety of big-name acts and is a great place to catch casual summer concerts--throw your blanket down, relax and listen. Ticket prices are reasonable, but food and drinks are ridiculous. Fortunately you can tailgate in the lot before the music starts. Bathrooms are limited, too. If there are a few opening bands, bring something to do in between acts, it can take a while. And if it's a popular band, go early to stake out a good spot. more

Outdoor Concerts 8/4/2005

With pavilion and lawn seats, Meriweather Post Pavilion is a great place to catch a concert, often for a reasonable price. Large screens are also part of the venue for those with lawn seats to better see the performers after the sun goes down. Located in Columbia it is convenient to get to from most areas in Baltimore. Concerts include free parking with the purchase of your tickets and additional parking is also at the Columbia Mall--which is less than a mile from where concerts are held. As with most venues, food and drinks are expensive. It's a nice venue to see a concert in. more
