I have had such an awful experience at this Men's Wearhouse, and with the company in general. The consultant I worked with used every sneaky way possible to drive the price up without telling us--they are worse than a used car lot! The scariest part is that the consultant helping us was the ASSISTANT MANAGER! (name: Sakhone Hemsouvanh)
I booked my wedding through MW Tux at the Champaign location. My fiance and I just wanted basic tuxes (not the bottom level, but not the most expensive either). We picked a contemporary 3 button design that was not name brand. When our groomsmen went to book, we found out they signed us up for Ralph Lauren suits, some of the most expensive in the store (unfortunately, after our guys paid their deposits, we couldn't change this). The assistant manager intentionally did not book what we had asked for, instead entering this much more expensive, but identical, designer style. I feel so bad for my groomsmen, all of whom are just out of college and don't have much money, having to pay nearly $170 per tux because of this individual's unethical actions.
Additionally, after we had left the store, the consultant that helped us went back into the computer order and added extra shirts and pocket squares for everyone to drive the price up even higher! (and possibly her commission and revenue for the store) An MW Tux manager at a different store told us that because of the way their orders are set up in the computer, it was obvious that this was what had happened. Luckily we were able to have these things removed by the other store that was actually being honest with us.
Lastly, the vest/tie pattern we chose was discontinued shortly after we booked, and they did not notify us at all! This was a huge change that would obviously affect many aesthetics of our wedding, as well as flower choices, etc. We only found out 2 months before the wedding when our groomsmen went to book and the vest could not be ordered. We had to rush into the store and pick a less satisfactory pattern, as well as change our boutonniere order. I consider it very poor customer service that they couldn't give a quick call to notify us of this, or at least warn us that the pattern may be on the way out when we originally booked.
I would avoid this Men's Wearhouse if at all possible. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, and this store caused us so much unneccessary grief. I wished I could cancel my order with them when I first discovered their sneakiness, but unfortunately our groomsmen were spread out all over the country and it was my only option (this company definitely has a monopoly on the nationwide tux market). If you must use them, you have to babysit their every move, and make sure that they not only tell you, but SHOW you in the computer system exactly what you're getting and how much it will cost. Hopefully this saves some brides and grooms from the horrible experience we had.
