Melody Shop/wpcc/treble Cafe

I have been taking mandolin lessons from an instructor by the name of Charles Anderson at the Melody Music Shop for a couple of years and I have to say he is one of the finest music instructors I have ever had. His quality of teaching is top notch. He teaches guitar, banjo, mandolin, piano, flute and vocals. The other instructors in the Shop are also very talented. The owners hold their standards high! The thing I like most about The Shop is the relaxed atmosphere. When you walk in they always make you feel welcome. They also offer a large selection of instruments, sheet music and music- related merchandise that you can buy. If they do not have something they will order it for you. Their prices are reasonable and competitve with other music businesses around the City. They also do repair work on instruments. I recommend the Melody Music Shop highly for any of your music needs or if your looking for quality music instruction. more

I""ve been tanking lessons there for 4 years, what i really like about the teachers and staff they take a genuine interest in there students.There are times that I need to change the day and time of my lesson and they are good about finding openings for me. One time my teacher was done at 8:00pm and stayed an extra half hour to fit me in. The guitar teachers are all pros they playout most weekends at different venues in and around pittsburgh. You don't know any truth. I will pray for you. It's a shame that you must pick on a small business that is trying to bring some musical joy and culture into our community. My staff and management are the most hard working, honest people in our community. The above recommendation was most likely posted by the shop owner. The website for the shop says ""in business over 40 years."" This is not true. The original owner sold the shop to new owners a bit more than one year ago; this is NOT the same Melody Shop from all those years in West Mifflin. The teachers are wonderful but the managment is bumbling and ineffectual at best, they cannot even get my kid's lessons recorded properly on their computer from week to week. This is a great place to learn an instrument with no hassle. Friendly atmostphere and professional teachers who care about the students...no matter the age. My 4 1/2 year old takes the sat. morning theatre class and she's ready for the stage! Pros: near Kennywood, Inexpensive Cons: hours open more
