We looked all over for the right RV and found what we were wanting from Mayflower RV. I had to work long hours this week and my wife tried to make the buy. The sales staff at Mayflower RV lied to my wife about the condition of the RV and pushed a quick sell through. We made a mistake of being to overzealous because we had a family vacation to FL. They Said that the RV was being sold on consignment and that an older couple owned it and just wasn’t using it anymore. We believed this because there was a chair lift on the side of the RV. When our bank needed a name for the check, they said the title was in Mayflower RV’s name. Then they held the RV for three days after our bank sent them a check under the pretense that they were doing a 100+ point check to ensure the RV was as they called it ‘Road Ready’. This was a problem because as they knew, we were leaving for FL just 3 days after that. My wife paid $900 for the check to help me because I was working so much. They talked her into just putting it into the check for the RV itself. This allowed them to show no paperwork of any check. They said the check would take three days but in fact I now realize that that was just time to make sure our check had gone through so we could not cancel it and take the RV back. When we picked up the RV, it wasn’t even cleaned and the workmanship on what little they had done was terrible. Once I got the RV home, I had to do several fixes and adjustments before I could even put it on the road. Shortly into our trip the reverse began to slip. Later I found out that the RV dealership had to know it was a problem. Still they fixed all the paperwork so that they didn’t even show they did a check. They would not help us at all. Once again the criminals know the system and the victims are left with the pain of being duped. The check they sold was no check at all just another lie. My wife feels terrible but we are both at fault and I just want to get it back on the road so that I can take my family RVing again.
