My internship this week at Mayfield has been an eye-opening experience for me in more ways than one?my great grandmother was in a nursing home and I was not impressed at all with nursing homes. I thought they were terrible places but Mayfield has changed my mind and I will be a Mayfield Long term Care advocate. Mayfield allowed me to have a hands on look and experience on the care, love and various functions that it takes from the staff. My mother worked at Mayfield as a receptionist. I now have a better prospective as an adult on the important roles of all the staff. How it aids in the rehabilitation, and vitality of the senior population. I like to commend your staff for their superior care of my friend. From day one I knew I made the right decision to have him admitted there for rehabilitation. Your staff immediately got him our the bed into a wheelchair indicating that this wasn't a vacation or rest home but all about rehabilitation getting better. The fourth floor nursing staff answered all my questions about his medicines and daily routine. They were well involved, knowledgeable and courteous. The staff that took of his personal hygiene, bathing, and shaving kudos to them, they did a fabulous job. My dear friend looked better and he felt better. The Therapist were great! They allowed me to observe him in action and were very thorough in explaining why he was doing various exercises and their goal for him. Their positive attitude got him involved, motivated and willing to participate in his therapy. The Social Worker Tanya was very helpful in listening to my concerns and provided valuable information and assistance in completing necessary documents. I found myself using the documents she completed to get his health insurance updated. Not once did I ever see or hear negativity that would have an adverse effect on any patient or visitor attitude, always positive. The Receptionists were always smiling and cordial. Overall, If I had to do this again your facility would be my number one choice and yes I would recommend your services to others that need rehabilitation. My stay at Mayfield was a rewarding and enjoyable one, Therapy was excellent staff they treated me good. I didn?t have any problems with any of the staff. They were all patient especially the Therapists. The nursing home is nice, I will miss all the staff especially my social worker. And I would gladly recommend Mayfield to others. more

I Thank you for having us over at your facility and making my experience as a volunteer such a nice one. The warmth and friendliness of the Activity Department toward me and the resident is an experience that I will never forget. I really enjoyed it a lot. They were nice, kind, loving, and caring to all the Residents. It was such a pleasure to be there. May God continue to bless you and all the Residents at Mayfield. more

The reason for this letter is to express my appreciation for one of your employees, Nickie C. the receptionist. She has always been very polite, helpful and upbeat whenever Ive encountered her, on the phone or in person. I feel she is a very valuable employee and should be recognized as so, Its very difficult to have a loved one in a nursing home, but people such as Nickie make the experience bearable. Kudos to her.
