Maya Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at The Maya recently. This was the first time that we had eaten there and we were very pleasantly surprised. The first thing that struck us was how polite the waitstaff was They were constantly saying "please" and "thank you". This is very important to me because I am tired of going to a business and having them treat me rudely. Our sodas were never empty, they were constantly refilling them. They also continuously refilled our chips and salsa. The prices were great. I ordered a combination that included a chicken taco, cheese enchilada, beans and rice at a price of around $7. I was so full that I had to take the enchilada home. I would really recommend the Maya. It is only a dollar or two more than fast food is and the atmosphere and food are far superior. more

The Maya is a good Mexican food restaurant. They are a little out of the way, and you might not even notice the restaurant because it is down Oak Park behind the huge medical offices. The food is excellent and they don't overcharge you. There is definitely a "family" feel to the restaurant and it is a very comforting atmosphere. Many Mexican restaurants feel the need to go overboard with bright colors and loud Latin music, but the Maya doesn't do that. The prices are good - you can take your family out to eat here without breaking the bank. more
