Maya Med Spa

This is the first time I have ever written a review on an establishment, but I am so unhappy with the service and results, I actually registered so I can write this review and hopefully save someone else from wasting their money. I drove 10 miles everyday fourth week of the month to get laser hair removal for the past 7 months, and I have had poor results. The hair grows back in a matter of days. Plus, I think the staff are rude and inconsiderate. You may have to sit in the waiting room for an hour before you actually get seen. TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!!! I went to Maya Med Spa for 8 months now and it DID NOT WORK FOR ME after I spent almost $2,600. Of course, you CANNOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK. They just tell you to keep coming every four weeks for THREE YEARS. Who wants to get painful laser surgery for three years? They tell you it only takes four visits, which is very misleading. And, they barely have any available weekend appointments unless you make them a month in advance. The point is: In my opinion, there are many other places in the area that provide the same service for a BETTER PRICE, and actually accomplish what you are paying them for. I was excited when I left for my consultation. I felt that I finally would be able to afford getting rid of the hair that is a huge embarassment to me. The lady I met with did not provide me very much information. She just stated how great the equiptment was. Oh, she also stated how hairy of a person I was. She said I NEEDED treatments everywhere. I had to tell her repeatedly that I was okay with the hair on my arms and the area on my face that she pointed out. She did not understand that I only wanted (Or could afford) to do a specific area. She kept saying that I needed to open a credit there. I wanted to speak to Nathan to ask him about the cost to treat my neck. He had emailed me stating that often there is very little work in the neck area and they do not charge clients who do other areas. We waited for him and when he came in the room he only stated that the woman told him I needed treatements all over my face. If either of these people cared at all about what I wanted as a customer I would have signed up. But they insulted me and made me feel horrible after I left. I didn't think I could feel worse about my situation, but they sure did prove me wrong. I told Nathan in an email stating how I felt about my consultation and he didn't care to respond. These people make their money by making people feel bad about themselves. I have read many comments about how these people pressured you into buying packages. I am a 48 years old psychologist. I have had facial treatments at Maya Med Spa on regular basis for the last 2 years. My esthetician formulated a program for me that included laser, clinical and other technology treatments. The results are incredible. Al my friends are amazed how younger my face has become. I checked several places before I went to Maya Med Spa. The interesting point that I discovered is that most med spas in the area have no comments about them on the Internet. Maya med Spa has many comments and most are positive. Once I visited Maya Med Spa I understood why. They are extremely busy. The place is beautiful. They have the most effective technology for laser hair removal. I studied the subject extensively. Alexandrite lasers produce the best results. The prices at Maya Med Spa are lower than most facilities in the area. Their prices have no hidden fees and are the same for all people for the same body area. Their guarantee period is longer. Most places charge per treatment and do not offer any guarantee period. No wonder it is such busy facility. I removed hair from my legs and bikini area with excellent results. My 19 year old daughter was insulted ,badgered and the coersed into their credit card system. Bills did not come to our house. Mother who brought the daughters would have thought to be respected, appreciated as good family customers. Mother was badgered by Vicki for daughter to get bikini & arm lasered. Wouln't you know, one day while mother waits in lobby daughter is signing for $900 in laser. " Don't worry you can have the bill come to our business, so your mother won't know." I went to have my hair removed on my legs. The staff kept insisting that I need to have hair removed from additional areas of my body. They were so insistent that I agreed. I tried other hair removal places and the results were poor. This place does thousands upon thousands of treatments per year. I did there my underarms and bikini lines almost two years ago, and I am as smooth as a baby. My operator was great and the service was usually on time. The cost was much less than other places charge. I sent all my girfriends there and they are happy too. Go there, you will like the results. Total ripoff. I got a laser facial package. I am done with the laser facial package and see absolutely NO results. Vicky is a total salesperson who makes commissions and will badger you into buying more stuff. She even tried to get me to buy a Bally's membership from her son who does sales there! I went in to remove hair on my face, due to an ad on the radio. The staff was friendly, my appointment was on time and my technician made me feel completely comfortable. I rated them 5 stars because everyone was friendly and professional. Most important, my results are great and I look forward to more. The thing I liked the best was that they give you exact prices without any hidden costs and they guarantee their work. I was completely comfortable and have already recommended them to my friends. I have done it all. Electrolysis, waxing, tweezing, bleaching, shaving, and lotions that smell like chemical plants. With laser hair removal at Maya Med Spa, I found it to be faster and much less expensive than electrolysis, longer lasting than waxing. I had my bikini line, underarms and legs successfully lasered. Hair was my worst enemy. However, with advanced laser technology at Maya Med Spa, I not only got rid of that enemy, but I regained my self-confidence. Certainly, it was just a matter of being patient. Truly, it was like day and night. My arms, underarms, face, and bikini looked amazing; cleaned of HAIR!!!!!!!! Now it is so great to be able to go swimming at the gym, at any time, without feeling uncomfortable. Hi Ladies, This medical spa is wonderful. If you really want your hair off for a very reasonable price this is the place to go. In Feb. of last year, I did my legs and Brazilian bikini. After 5 treatments and 1 follow up treatment the hair is gone and nothing grew since. Their technology works. It is not the cheap IPLs that most places use. It really works. This is a great place with great ambiance and nice people. Do not pay attention to all the old, angry women that want to look 20 years younger in 1 treatment. There are no miracles. I always wondered why people write bad things about a business. Usually there is a different reason other than the one stated. I go to Maya Med Spa. All my girlfriends go there as well. We do hair removal and have great results. I happened to know Oleksandra, the girl that wrote the last 2 reviews. We work at the same hair salon. In fact, she told me about Maya Med Spa. She still goes there. Her mother and her sister go there as well. The truth is that she applied for a job there and they wouldn?t take her. So she is mad at them. I don?t know the motivation of the other people. All I know that Maya Med Spa is a very nice place, I am hair free and I paid a very reasonable price. I really wish I had read these reviews before going to Maya. I also had Vicky as my technician and she is really just not sharp. I had a laser done on my face and she skipped my forehead altogether. I told her to go back and do it. She also spent a very short amount of time on me. The ambiance is fine, nothing special. I actually thought the owner, Nathan, was nice. But I'm never going back. It was $150 that was completely wasted. It's been two weeks now and I see no changes. My coworkers and friends told me they could see a difference after just one treatment. Pros: Nothing really. WORST PLACE EVER. I caved into the sales pressure to get a bikini hair removal done and I had burns and blisters. Vicki was very unapologetic and really has no idea what she is doing. Worst $500 spent. I also had laser facial rejuvenation done and have no results showing in my face. STAY AWAY. Spend your money elsewhere. The staff is untrained and the place is a complete rip-off. Terrible practice do not go there! I went there for my first visit to do an acne laser treatment, I got pushed to do the laser hair treatment on the bikini area. My first visit was good, however the facial laser treatment was done too quick and with no results. I went back my second visit to continue the laser hair removal treatment, and it was completely different the treatment this time. Vicky started the treatment and it was too painful, my skin felt like it was on fire with the anesthetic, I kept asking to stop and she kept doing. I had to get up and leave and I said I would never go back there. The laser level was so high that I have terrible BURN marks all over my bikini area (not as a typical result) THE SKIN IS DARK WITH PUS ON THE AREAS THAT THE SKIN WAS REMOVED! I have been placing anti-biotics since then. I paid a high price not to have any results, now I will have to keep shaving when my skin heels. Find another place to do your treatments, they are rude, agressive and not professional. This Spa's manager's name is Nathan and he is an extremely rude individual. Like any other polish-managed place, it will go down in infamy should they keep treating their customers with blunt rudeness and disrespect that I got on 12-10-2007. Good luck getting a lasik hair removal in this spa! I recommended a lot of people to this spa, a decision I highly regret. After manager/owner yelled at me for missing my appointment, of which I was supposed to be notified in the first place, I was so humiliated that I wanted to cry. Other than that, the staff is unprofessional and administers pain during mundane procedures that generally don't hurt. Once again, good luck getting a procedure in this spa!
