Had an appointment for a organic enzyme facial at master design last week with an esthetician named Jessa.. I went in feeling down and a little depressed about my age and skin appearance...BUT WHEN I LEFT...my face looked so radiant, tight, and i had this glow.. It felt softer and more hydrated. I couldn't stop staring at my face in my rear view mirror on the way home!! more

I have trusted my cut, style, and hair color to the staff at Master Design for years, and many of my friends, some who have been Queens of various Carnival Memphis Krewes, have done the same. Sheila and the staff go that extra mile to insure that you are happy and are looking great. Plus they give their time and talents to many of the fashion shows and charities in the Memphis area. I wouldnt trust my hair to just anyone, and I don't. Master Design Salon also has a massage therapist, manicurist, and Aestheticians for that ever enjoyable facial. more

My co-worker recently referred me to Stephanie, and she is awesome. I have tried other stylist in the area and they do not compare. She is so professional and the salon is great. I came to her and my hair had not been done in 6 months. She was able to match my color and highlights perfectly and recommend products that actually work on my curly hair. The price was affordable and the service was exceptional. She goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your hair. She and Master Design are Definitely worth the money! more

I was given a certificate for my birthday and had a massage, which was the best ever (thank you, Kristin), an emzyme facial by Linda, who has a magic touch, and fabulous haircolor by Michelle. more

I am new to the area and made the mistake of making an appointment at this salon. I should have known it was going to be a bad experience when the rude old woman answered the phone. Looking past that, I made an appointment and was scheduled with a stylist named Stephanie White. more

As a newcomer to the salon, the stylist consulted with me on my hair color problems, and discussed a potential style I was interested in. I was told that the services were "ala carte:, and I chose to blow my own hair out after the color. I knew that I could not get everything done in one visit, but now have a plan to achieve my goals. I have been to other salons and the better ones I have been to also used "ala carte" for services. The building is also very warm and very inviting. I totally enjoyed my experience. Beware of this salon! I paid for a color that was supposed to be a $65 partial highlight and ended up with over $190 in charges! The best part is that you are not told that anything is going to be additional. Even when you a pay for a hair color, drying your hair is NOT INCLUDED! BEWARE of this. What salon would let someone leave who had received a color with wet hair. What if there was a problem? I also had about a 1/2 inch of grow out still showing when I left the salon. I also agree with the reviewer above, the receptionist is rude and puts words into your mouth. Pros: beautifully decorated Cons: Expensive services and hidden costs more

My daughter and I have been in the salon several times. Brooke does a fantastic job. She is very nice and listens to what you want. We walkout happy with the hair cut and color everytime. We have also had eyebrow waxing done as well ,and she is very good at that also. With that being said, I would have given them a 5 star rateing if it wasn't for the older lady that answers the phone. She is just plan RUDE. And if you think that it will be better wwhen you see her in person it isn't. She looks down her nose at you and just plain talks ugly. She has been there for years and I just don't understand how everyone else can be so friendly and she can be so ugly. They say 1 bad apple can ruin the bunch , well it hasn't yet. I'm from NY and have been to many, many, many hairdressers in NY. Very rarely am I pleased with the service that I get for the money I pay for. With that being said, Master Design is an adorable shop right off White Station Road in Memphis (don't go to the Poplar Ave address that's stated above, the address has changed). Mike did my hair, and I LOVED it. He gave me a cut where it won't take a lot of time to manage in the morning and it still looks cute. It's a very friendly place, and even has a boutique in front of the Salon which I want to check out the next time I ago. Highly recommend getting a haircut here. For an enjoyable day out --you can't go wrong with Master Design --the pampering --the massage---hair color--hair cut---the shopping at Muse in the same building --it is all worth it --Cindy Pros: staff--up to date styles--- Cons: none more

They really know what they are doing- I would not trust my hair to anyone else. They are truly professionals. more

I absolutely do not recommend this salon for anyone looking for wedding day styling. I was very disappointed with the outcome and my hair fell down about half-way through the night. Most importantly, I had a horrible experience and was treated unprofessionaly by their staff. more
