I have been to Martine's many times and have had excellent experiences until recently. Last time I was there the server took fifteen minutes to even come over to our table. No major problems after that until I asked him to wrap my dish of lobster that had over half left. I should have realized that he forgot after I needed to ask for it. When he finally brought it he told me be careful it is hot. This should have been a major clue. The next day when I opened my to go container to heat up the lobster dish there was rice in the container and nothing else. I called and complained to the owner, Martine, and was told there was nothing they could do and it was my fault. Absurd! She said she would look into it and call me back in a few days. I never received a call and will not be going back. The entree was over 30 dollars and a simple apology would have gone a long way. I would not recommend being a patron of a restaurant that does not value its customers. more

While often crowded, the wait is worth it. The fireplace next to the bar is a welcoming spot to sip a cocktail on a winter's night. This is not a spot to come if you want to get in and out quickly. Take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and savour the food. We like the upstairs at night and the bar side or patio tables for lunch. Try some of the specials as the chef is creative and well trained in the mixing of flavors. Save room for the desserts, too. For the price, the food is very good, but you can spend more and get better in New Hope. Try this restaurant for a great date night and go dancing at Havana, afterwards. The food and service are always terrific with frequent new items on the menu. The bartenders are well qualified and mix a terrific drink. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Pros: Excellent cuisine, Great service, Romantic atmosphere more
