I went for a regular foil, lt. blonde highlights over my ash brown hair. He put cinnamon brown and a yellow blonde high and lowlights in one inch wide sections. At the top it was VERY brassy. Underneath he colored four inch wide sections, and in the back, blended. I guess he thought I wouldn't notice. I want it to look just as nice when I pull it up. There was no consistency to the color. After he was done, he put toner on, and charged me for two colors (and toner $20)= $140. He told me on the phone the very most it would be was about $95 for two colors. It is his fault if he got the color wrong and had to use toner. Several times he told me ""you know I blocked out time to cut your hair. You needed your hair colored, but you really need to get it cut."" I felt like he was trying to make me feel like I had to do it because he had blocked out the time for it. I never asked for a hair cut! I don't mind someone giving their opinion but he kept saying I blocked out the time to cut your hair. The color looked like a blob of blonde and brown brassiness had dropped onto the crown of my head. The color wasn't pulled to the ends of my ash brown hair. I e-mailed them, and I know they check their e-mail. I got no response. He kept telling me it would be the best haircut I ever had. It wasn't. The bottom line is I showed him pictures and he knew I wanted light blonde highlights just regular highlights, not thick streaks or different colors. I specifically told him that I wanted nothing resembling a warm brown put on my hair and he did it anyway. The building is rundown looking from the outside and inside. I passed it a few times because I didn't think that would be it. There were no other customers in the salon the whole time I was there, and none waiting to get in when I left, so I feel he was nickel and diming me to get as much money out of me as he could because business is slow. I was very disappointed that he didn't respond and make it right. I have never had a salon not tell me to come back if I wasn't happy about something. I had to go to another salon to try to ""correct"" what he did. That is very poor customer service. It has been very expensive. I give Marino Salon and Spa a BIG thumbs down.
Pros: Personable
Cons: Didn't do what I asked and overcharged me
