Excellent new chef 8/29/2011

The new chef there is fantastic! We have been going there for years. The last chef, Jean Paul was quite good, but he got on a reality show or something and departed. The new chef was one of Alex Stratta's sous chefs and is excellent. One of my favorite dishes is the tuna and pork belly appetizer. The new duck dish is excellent as well. They even brought back the Gateau Basque dessert! As always, the wine selection is excellent and the wine price is only marked up about 15% or so, not the 300% mark up on The Strip. Service is generally good and the atmosphere is upscale. The place has been one of my favorites for the six years I have lived here. more

Loved it! 3/10/2010

Had a great time, great food, great evening! Pros: Great View of the Lake. Jazz Music made the night! Cons: Tables could be a bit nicer. more

best French in Vegas! 3/4/2010

Marche Bacchus is our favorite place for a glass of wine...or sometimes a bottle of wine, good eats and a great view. They have the only lakeside terrace in Vegas and it truly feels like an escape to another place. The food has done a 180 in recent years wiht the addition of Chef Jean Paul Labadie who worked for Emeril Lagasse for 14 years before taking the lead at Marche. His dishes are elegant, yet rustic at the same time. He really shows his chops in signature dishes like his lobster pot pie and pretty much anything with seafood. His scallops are the best in town. The wines here are really great, probably 1,000 or so labels to choose from, all at about 50% the price what it would cost to drink them on LV Strip restaurants. Really. Pros: Amazing food, views and wine more

Great Place for French Cuisine 7/17/2009

My fianc? and I went to March? Bacchus for his twenty-seventh birthday and it was definitely the best place for a romantic and unforgettable food and wine experience. I had an impeccable dining experience with exquisite and artistic presentation in an opulent setting. Their lake side patio seating is complete with umbrellas and comfortable chairs, these tables overlook one corner of the lake, providing beautiful views and the sense that you are no longer in Las Vegas. The food was delicious! March? Bacchus had an extensive wine list and service was impeccable. Their wine market was amazing and fairly priced. For our appetizer, we had the Truffled Crab Cakes and Grilled Shrimp Ete Salad. They were both fantastic! For our entr?es we had the Lobster Pie which was by far the best thing I have ever had! My fianc? ordered the Pan Roasted Duck Breast, and he loved it so much that he ate everything on his plate. With every course we became more impressed with the food, both in taste and presentation. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys authentic French cuisine. Pros: Great prices on wine more

Excellent in every way 2/18/2009

You can ignore the screaming review that was obviously left by a disgruntled ex-employee. The husband and wife team that owned the restaurant weren't that bad, but they don't own the place any more. New owner, new chef. Excellent in every way. Pros: Ambience, wine selection Cons: none. zilch. nada. more

YOUR FOOD'S BEEN ON THE GROUND! 11/12/2008

BAD FOOD? MAYBE IT?S BECAUSE YOU FOOD?S BEEN ON THE GROUND! FROM A FRENCH PERSON, YES, THE FOOD IS AVERAGE. BUT THAT?S NOT THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS PLACE. THE WORKERS ARE ABUSED!!! AND THE OWNERS BREAK LABOR AND HEALTH LAWS ALL THE TIME! THEY SMILE AND TALK SWEET TO CUSTOMERS AND THEN TURN INTO MONSTERS THE NEXT MINUTE WITH THEIR EMPLOYEES! THEY?VE TRAINED THE YOUNG ASIAN MANAGER TO MANAGE THE SAME WAY THEY DO: BY ABUSING. THEY BREAK THE LAW WHEN IT COMES TO A LOT OF THINGS! AND IF YOU REFUSE TO PICK UP BREAD FROM THE FLOOR AND PUT INTO THE BASKET GOING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, YOU?RE FINISHED! NOT TO MENTION THAT SAID BASKET IS ONLY BROUGHT OUT IF ASKED FOR BY THE CUSTOMERS! THAT?S RIGHT: ON TOP OF IT, THEY?RE EXTREMELY CHEAP! THE WIFE WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF PLATES FROM YOU AND THEN SAY SHE DID YOUR WORK AND MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE TIP POOL? YOU GET YELLED AT IF YOU MAKE ANY MISTAKE, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, YOU GET YELLED AT IF SOMEONE MADE A MISTAKE AND THEY DECIDED YOU DID IT, AND YOU?RE CALLED A LIAR IF YOU DARE SAYING YOU ARE INNOCENT! EVERYBODY'S DEMEANED DAILY AND TOO SCARED TO CALL ON THEM ABOUT BREAKING LABOR & HEALTH LAWS! THE WHOLE CREW CALLED EACH OTHER AFTER WORK EVERY NIGHT TO CRY ON EACH OTHER?S SHOULDER! HOW SAD! THIS ISN?T MY REAL NAME AND THEY HAVE NO WAY TO GUESS WHO THIS IS BECAUSE THEY?VE TREATED EVERYONE WHO?S EVER WORKED FOR THEM THIS WAY! Pros: Nice setting if you're allowed to sit outside Cons: Owners break health & labor laws more

Excellent wine, good food, great setting 8/11/2008

My husband and I have been going here for over three years. It has undergone a change in ownership and they recently got a new chef to replace Christophe who had been there for about a year. The goat cheese pastry with ratatouille was very nice. I had the sea bass that was marinated in miso soup for three days and it was out of this world. My husband had the Maytag crusted filet that was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we split the tarte tatin that was one of the best we have ever had, even rivaling the desserts at Andre's. Pros: wine, value, atmosphere, staff Cons: still working out the kinks with new owners and new chef more

McDonalds? 6/23/2008

Wow, the differences here are astounding. The locale is beautiful, the food is horrible. We were completely disappointed with the service, and just floored with how bad the food was. Pros: incredible location Cons: prison food more

FORGET IT!!! 6/17/2008

The new owners have totally screwed this place up. They raised all the prices and the food is as bad as ever. Skip this dive at all costs and save yourself the grief. Pros: Nice outdoor spot Cons: Don't eat the food more

Excellent experience, a ""must go"" place, one of the best in Vegas, worth a drive. 4/10/2008

Excellent experience. The new chef's food was excellent as is the service, the view and the ambience. Very romantic. The wine shop in the front is great and only a $10 corkage fee if you have it at dinner. The new owner is great, he is very passionate about making your experience great. He is very knowledgeable and helpful about wine choices. The service people could not have been better or had a better attitude. One of the best places in Vegas, a must go, definitely worth a drive. Pros: Owner, food, wine shop in front, great food and fantastic ambience with view over the water. more

Top of the Worst...... 3/25/2008

We went over there on Sunday for Easter Brunch and it was a real disaster. We had gone over there about 6 months ago and the food was awful. But then we heard there was new owners so we decided to give it another try what a bad decision!!!!!! We had called long enough in advance to make sure that all 12 of us would be seated at the same table and were told that it wouldn't be a problem at all. They would accomodate us by taking a couple of square tables and make them a big rectangular one. Sure enough when we were taken to our table( after waiting over 1/2 hour ) we were seated on two separate round table. How nice is it to see somebody's back instead of their face while you are eating especially when it is family you haven't seen in a long time who just came to spend Easter's weekend with you. Now the food was even worst than anything you could imagine. They started us with a small platter of fresh assorted pastries (they didn't make any difference if it was for two or for six people) and by fresh i guess they meant fresh out of the freezer. Then the main course was for sure the worst steak and eggs in my whole life. Meat cold and overcooked, cold eggs and over salted rock hard cold breakfast potatoes. The dessert Napoleon was so bad that i just started laughing when our waitress brought it to us. The custard used for the filling looked like a baby had just throwed up on my plate his lunch and raspberries. We decided to talk to the manager as the whole experience was far from being a good one and we were treated like dirt. Even our waitress was ashamed of the whole ordeal. She tried her best but only remembered to bring the ketchup for the steak and eggs when we were almost done. The only time they are right on the button is when they bring you the bill. We got charged for everything believe me. When leaving i adressed my thoughts to the new owner and here they are: GET A CHEF WHO CAN ACTUALLY COOK , NOT LIKE THE CLOWN YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW UNTIL THEN .. Pros: Pretty nice part of town. Waterside with ducks and birds. Cons: Food, Value..... more

Simply wonderful 7/18/2007

For totality of experience simply the best restaurant in Vegas. The food ranges from the simply first rate to the extraordinary. Their fish, especially, is the best in the city. The setting is lovely; right on the shore of a lake in one of the city's better neighborhoods. You'd never guess you were in Vegas. The wine store is also a real attraction. The owners take their wine quite seriously and taste everything that comes through the door. It is impossible to get a bad bottle of wine here; some sell for under $10. Since they charge only a $10 corkage fee to bring a bottle from the store to your table the wine is also an incredible bargain compared to what other restaurants charge. The owners are very friendly and make everyone feel special. A little hard to find if you don't know the city, but certainly worth the effort. Truly a remarkable place. Pros: great food, great setting, friendly owners, fabulous and inexpensive wine selection Cons: not a one more

Great 10/21/2005

This place is great, period. It is one of my favorite places in Vegas. The food is wonderful and being able to browse the wine store is enjoyable. The have a wide variety of french wine, as well as a few selections from other countries. The dining is right by a lake, which is very romantic. Service is good and the wine steward is very helpful. They only charge a 10 dollar corkage fee, so the wine cost is less than at a regular restaurant. The cuisine is French, with some american influence. The rack of lamb with mustard glaze/crust was fantastic, as was their filet with cognac sauce. The snapper with ginger relish is out of this world. Pros: Food, wine, setting more

Great Hospitality from Husband & Wife Team! 5/29/2005

We love this place. Brunch, dinner, when we need to buy good wine...there's no place like this in LV. Gregoire & Agathe couldn't be lovlier. I've always thought food tasted better when it's served up by people who truly seem to care about you. Pros: Hospitable Owners, Lakeside Patio, Delicious food more
