You will not find not only a better variety of product, but a more wonderful country environment to shop, or a better group of people anywhere on earth. The home made pies, and pastries are to die for not to mention the home grown fruits and vegetables. Mann's is very active in the commuinity as well. I will never forget what Bill Fitzgerald of Mann's did on 9/11. There were two families in Methuen, MA that had been directly effected by the horror of 9/11 having lost loved ones. Mr. Fitzgerald held an event at his orchard where as all proceeds earned through the sales of his large variety of pies, was donated to these familes. I don't recall the total number of pies that were sold however, I purchased 5 myself. Truly a class act. Pros: Variety Of Product. The Best Home Made Pies Anywhere. I can't wait until these guys open again. I really truly miss the friendly customer service that Mann's was always able to provide. The supermarkets just can't compete with the fresh produce and the warm smiles that were always abundant whenever you would walk through those doors. Right before they closed (they are moving to a bigger location right up the street) I had one of their freshly baked apple pies for the first time, and have been anxiously waiting their reopening this summer to get some for all of my family outings. Their apples are the crispest coem fall, and their peaches the juiciest I have seen since I was a kid. I don't know how else to describe such a gem, as more and more farmstands disappear, Manns has been able to keep up with progress, while still delivering on its country roots. I recently visited the farmstand for the first time in years, and was pleasantly surprised that the service and value had not changed. The service is still great, and the fruit and vegetables are as fresh as ever. The pies are a must have, as is their wide variety of freshly made soups-all of which are made in house. When the seasons permit, they pull produce from local farms and even grow some of their own. In the fall, their wide selection of apples that are picked on site cannot be beat. Be sure to visit.
