Mamma & Pappa B's Bar-B-Q

Previous reviewer should eat at lowfat places not BBQ if they are worried about grease. I used to work down town only 2 blocks from Mama and Pappa B's. (It is not a bad part of town, I have seen much much worse areas in Waco.) I would walk there to eat at least twice a week. I was always very satisfied with my meal. Everybody knows sausage is greasy...DUH! The place is old but nice and clean. Mama is very picky about the cleanlyness. Some people just mistake old for dirty. In the three and half years I spent going there twice every week I never saw or experienced anything close to the previous reviewer. Check with the health department to find out what this restaurant's rating is if you don't believe me. Health dept ratings are available to the public and not kept secret. My food was always good and fresh, never old, dry or crusty. I still go there to eat as often as I can since I no longer work very close. I recommend you check it out and see for yourself. more

This place is dirty, old and dingy. The people were very nice but when one of my friends said it was the best in town he later told me it was a joke and he could not believe I went there. This place was kinda nice on the outside. It had that pit BBQ look, kinda run down with painted signs on the windows. The place is in a bad part of town. The sauce was good but the brisket was so dry and crusted, the sausage was way too fatty and I believe the cook was wearing an apron that use to be blue. His rag was purple, brown, yellow, and crusty and it made me sick to see him clean the block with it before chopping. more
