Shady deposit issue comes up again 10/30/2008

I recently placed a $500 deposit at Berlin City (formerly Maine Mall Motors) for a Honda Fit soon to come in. After reviewing the pricing information they gave me, I noticed it contained a 'market adjustment' line item for $500. After visiting another local Honda dealership and discovering that this 'market adjustment' wasn't as 'typical' as the Berlin City people led me to believe, I called my salesperson there and cancelled my order for the Fit and requested that my deposit be returned. He said, 'ok,' as I expected he would since he'd previously indicated that this deposit was refundable if, for some reason, I decided not to buy the car. I assumed I would see this $500 credit on my next credit card account statement. The credit did not appear as I assumed it would, so I called Berlin City. I was transferred multiple times - always to another person who had no record of my name or deposit. Finally someone in finance at least acknowledged that they'd heard of me and that they had taken my credit card info, but somehow, his information indicated that my card had never been charged this $500. To be fair, I did not have the name of my salesperson in front of me, nor could I recall it. However, I did have my credit card statements (indicating both the charge to my account and the lack of a credit) as well as the original credit card swipe receipt at home. After chatting with Berlin City, I googled their dealership and 4 reviews came up - all not so flattering. One, in fact, desribes a very similar deposit/credit card issue. This place is shady. If I have any trouble getting this $500 back after work today, I plan on contacting the State of Maine Attorney General's Office. Pros: ??... Cons: Tough to get your deposit back more

Been a customer for 10 years until today 4/6/2007

Been a customer for about 10 years and have always been very satisfied. About 2 weeks ago I had an accident with my Honda Civic. I requested that they look it over really well before I chose to have it fixed, because I wanted the car to be okay and thought a Honda certified mechanic should see it. They didn't agree, got the GM of the dealership involved. He agreed that they would see it and have the Service Manager call me, never got a call. Not happy at all. Not the same place I have known. more

Customer's Worse Nightmare 12/2/2006

Poor service! It took weeks to get my tail-light fixed. First, it was diagnosed as a fuse box problem. After fuse box replaced, found out it was due to a short with the radio. They replaced the radio. When I went to pick up the vehicle, the car wouldn't start. They drained the battery and either didn't charge it completely or didn't charge it at all. After they jump-started the vehicle and assured it would be fully charged when I got home, I discovered that the new radio they installed was not programmed. After it was programmed, I drove the vehicle home only to learn that they disengage the anti-theft/locking mechanism of the vehicle and failed to reset it. Since then, my battery has died on my vehicles numerous times. I left messages, but they have not returned my phone call. I also had problems with getting a quote prior to them working on the vehicle and two occasions. I'll never go there again. Cons: timely service, efficient service, effective service more

I have ordered a SRS chip for my Honda Accord they took all most 3 weeks to get it and when every I call them they say we did not get it as of now , when I call them after 3 week again I had the same answer and then I call the service they told there was no order place on my name the same service person who said it is not there next min he says its there, I do not know how come answers will be changing in a min in the service more
