I have found a lot of harder to find albums at the Mad Platter that I would never have been able to find at a franchise or larger store. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is a large section of local information, to find out up and coming shows and bands. It is located in a great shopping center, so it is worth your while if you are out in the area. more

you should check out the Mad Platter. Located in University Village near UCR, this music store offers more than just any regular music store. Not only do they have an extensive assortment of music, but they also have information on where to go for free shows and things of that sort. The Mad Platters is an independent record store, and it most definitely lives up to its name. I’ve been to my fair share of music stores, and the Mad Platters offers the most: everything from mainstream to subterranean music. more

okay music store 8/20/2005

This place likes to advertise all the time about how they aren't corporate music or whatever but in the end the product is the same. If this place was called Wherehouse then I wouldn't notice the difference, the music is the same and the store looks the same so what's the point? Just another music store, go here if you want to buy a CD but don't want to wait for it to be delivered online. more

Music galore 8/9/2005

The Mad Platter is a record/music store located near UCR. They have a wide collection of different music and the workers there are willing to help you or suggest music. The Mad Platter also advertises shows and it is a good way of finding out free shows or other shows at local venues. You'll find different music from pop to hardcore. more

Extensive Music Selection 7/14/2005

Although they specialize in modern rock, imports, rare and independents, you can find just about anything at this local record store. They carry CDs, vinyl as well as music videos.....even tshirts, stickers, posters buttons and patches. enough selection to make any music buff happy. They do supply all sorts of music, including jazz, R&B, rock, metal and punk. more
