The MAC is an overall wonderful restaurant. The food is filling, reasonable portions, and tasty.
The menu has entrees to appease both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates. With the traditional gyros, one receives a hearty platter of meat, ziziki sauce(SP), veggies, hummus, and pita bread to construct your gyros just the way you desire. There is the veggie adaptation for those to whom meat does not appeal. The kabobs consist of veggies and chunks of succulent, flavorful, and tender meat (lamb or chicken). There, again, is a veggie kabob; however, I have not tried that. I have tried the Bolani, an authentic Afghan dish. it is like a potatoe quesadilla, very delicious.
The list of dessert is small but still possesses much variety. I have had tried all of their desserts. The simple chocolate cake is moist and not too rich. The cardommom pudding (SP) is very refreshing and light. Their homemade ice cream is easy on the palate. However, the best, by far, is their baklava. It is rich, sweet, and succulent. A favorite of mine.
They offer really great tea, too. Their herbal green tea is sweet and very aromatic. However, my personal favorite is their Indian tea. It is a very flavorful chai tea.
The greatest aspect of the MAC, and the one that keeps drawing me back week after week, is Nasir Jallal, the owner. Nasir is, by far, the most charismatic and amicable fellow I have ever met. I come back every week, with a friend, to enjoy tea and Nasir's company for hours on end until it is near their closing time.
