Maaco Auto Body Shop & Painting

We had an old 1990 Buick painted here at the 16th St & US301 location in Sarasota, FL. I was not sure what to expect because we got their half-off the most popular paint job (urethane w/ integrated clear) for $299. We stripped it to bare metal on the top surfaces and paid extra for etch primer. We picked it up today and the spray job was fantastic with our deep metallic blue (electric blue). Very evenly coated, including the under-bumper panels. They did an awesome, detailed job taping it off. I was impressed that they sprayed the wheel wells gloss black and other underbody parts subject to blue overspray. We did not pay for any finish sanding for orange peel, yet the finish looks beautiful with little orange peel. The finish is consistent around the car, even on the under-bumper panels. I fixed a dent myself and the bondo was porous on the surface. They finished it off for me and the repair cannot be seen - no extra cost. This paint job was 5 stars. It's tough to find reasonable painters that are great. We found one at Maaco in Sarasota. more

We had a windshield replaced when we had the car painted. Their subcontractor stripped out the motor of our windshield wiper and wouldn't own up to it. Maaco compromised and paid for half of the cost of the part and installed it no charge. They also told me they wouldn't be using that company again. BTW, the company is MGM Service Mobile Glass, Michael Kite is the contact person. So the negative falls on the windshield replacement person. Their compromise, paying for half the part made it so I would use Maaco again. I do have to mention too that the car does look good even though we settled on their midgrade paint job. They obviously have pride of work in their shop and from what I saw, keep the shop clean. Pros: Cheapest Paint Job Cons: You get what you pay for more
