Lytle, Tate & Stamper Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

I have had a fear of seeing the regular Dentist my entire life and do not do well with ""PAIN"" at all. I had been dealing with a cracked tooth that needed attention for quite some time. I suffered about 3 weeks with excruciating pain and even had to go to the ER twice during my ordeal. Dr. John Lytle gave me my life back again, I literally lost sleep and felt like for 3 weeks I was on the TV Show Wipe Out from total exhaustion. Dr. John Lytle's procedure went "" smooth as silk"". I thought I would be in alot of pain and alot of bleeding from my (1) tooth extraction neither one occurred and to my surprise hours later I was able to enjoy mashed potatoes and jello!! I felt as thought a weight was lifted due to I recently had a horrific experience with another oral surgeon that I will not name, let me suffer for 3 weeks and insisted that I be (put to sleep) and that was not neccessary with Dr. Lytle. I only needed local for the simple extraction with Dr. Lytle . It's never pleasant to go to the dentist and have them yank out your teeth, but I've done it twice and had a good experience both times. I had my wisdom teeth taken out and I've had 4 other teeth extracted for orthodontic purposes. Both times, I woke up with little to no pain and recovered very quickly. My sister went there as well and had a great experience as well. I don't think that we were blessed with teeth that are easy to pull out. We both had one impacted tooth that needed to be broken into bits and then taken out piece by piece. Regardless, when I woke up, my pain was bearable and I recovered quickly. \r \r The doctors were always respectful, courteous, and professional. I don't think I could have asked for much more. My insurance didn't cover all of my costs, but I'm not sure if that's a factor of bad insurance on my part, or expensive bills on their part. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and painless wisdom teeth extraction could be, especially after hearing many horror stories of the procedure. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Thomas Tate, who is a no-nonsense dental surgeon with 38 years of experience. The nurses are knowledgeable and patient in explaining the procedure and made me feel very comfortable. I was put to sleep, woke up an hour later and it did not feel like a big procedure has just be done on me at all. After the anesthesia subsided, the pain was on par with what I experienced on my first day of having braces, so it's very bearable. Bleeding stopped during my 3-hour nap at home and my face was just a little swollen afterwards.\r \r The examination room is clean with no intimidating tools in sight that make patient nervous. Like the reviewer before me, I was expecting the worst when I had my two upper wisdom teeth removed. However, it was the most pleasant dental experience I ever had (including regular check-ups). I fell asleep and when I woke up, I didn't even believe that they had taken my teeth out - I had to see my teeth to believe it. \r I had no pain, and figured it was because of the vicodin. However, after the pain meds wore off, I still felt great! \r But again, like the reviewer before me, I don't know what to do with the hole left in my mouth. One socket got a sucture, and healed very nicely and I have no problems with it. The other is now just a hole, and food keeps getting trapped in it. However, they called the day after surgery to see how I was; I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I called them to ask about further aftercare. \r THANKS DR. STAMPER! I had my two lower wisdom teeth removed by John L. Lytle in Oct. 2005. Expecting the worst, I was extremely surprised to find that I experienced very little bleeding and absolutely no pain during my recovery. I could not possibly be happier with the quality of the work he did for me. My only complaint is that the doctor or nurses could have spent a little more time explaining long-term post-operative care. They clearly explained how to get through the first few days of recovery, but after that I was left to care for two holes in my mouth without any instructions on doing so.
