Good Times 2/3/2011

There's a reason why people go to bars, nightclubs, and other forms of nightlife. These places are our only outlet for letting loose and relaxing, amidst the daily turmoil of the work grind. Yet whenever I step in the Lucky Strike Hollywood, I am always transported to the relaxing moments of my youth. Bowling, drinks, and beautiful ladies--what a way to spend the night. more

Fun Night Out 6/22/2010

Went here with some friends I was visiting, and we had a great time. I love the idea of the lounge, bar, bowling alley hybrid. The drinks were really good, at a totally reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend checking it out! Pros: great drinks, awesome atmosphere, good service more

Nice place, but horrible service 6/20/2009

To begin with this place looks nice and has a great atmosphere. Service is just lame. In order to use a pool table u need to switch an I.D for equipment. Well the careless staff lost an I.D of our party or gave it to another party. Never once intended to apologize as well as trying to work something out with us. Rude to us as if it was our fault that there so called "safe storage" is a cardboard box for everyone else belongings. As a customer i am trying to make sure no one gets there i.id's lost and make a note to the manager that there staff is careless as well as he is. Never will i ever go to lucky strike again nor recommend this crappy service to anyone. Pros: nice area, nice look Cons: service horrible manager and all staff more

Fun/Unique way to Bowl! 5/19/2009

What a great idea! A classy bowling alley is just what we need in Torrance. It's so much fun to have an activity while you're out- and this place is clean, trendy and filled with buzz. more

Beware of door "Greeters/Bouncers" 1/8/2009

Use caution of facility's door "greeters/bouncers." Two members of our party were already on site to bowl. One male adult denied admission. He was wearing a fairly new black t-shirt and black trousers. Door staff said it wasn't up to the "dress code." Two men inside inquired why the third fellow was denied admission. Manager was very "caustic" until the men identified themselves as police officers. (Guy denied admission worked for the same police department). Those using the facility need to be cognizant of the "dress code" for a bowling alley! Pros: Terrific location and outstanding facility. Cons: Terrible "caustic" management and staff. more

Lucky Strikes...Out! 9/2/2008

It's a great facility too bad that the service falls below par when we got there. At the last minute, we had booked a decent size party to include food. Presentation and set up was horrible. Instead of chaffing dishes or food warmers, food was brought in by the plates. We had to move the tables are ourselves to accommodate all the food. We were charged for a set up fee but don't understand what that included. We were given a corner area, which was larger and nicer than the original area that was chosen for us but it was not clean. There were flies that hovered over the food, therefore we stood around swatting flies while eating. We had a great server, Monica, who was outstanding throughout the whole thing while having to tend to other table. We had a few concerns but the manager didn't stop to check on us or to even to say hello especially since I observed that the place wasn't fully booked but I was very busy. At the of the party we had great time since everyone had a great attitude. It's a fun venue but the staff for the exception of the server are not very friendly or helpful. Pros: Great facility for gathering, spacious, Cons: Cleanliness or lack of, Poor service and management, unfriendly staff more

Great upkeep, Friendly staff 4/3/2007

I visited on a Friday evening and got a lane right away. Equipment and lanes are in great condition. Place has a fun, intimate feel for a bowling alley. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Lanes are shorter than regulation which makes it easier and more fun for amateurs. Pros: Upkeep Cons: Parking takes 15 minutes more

Cool lounge with some fun-bad service 3/6/2007

I had my birthday here with a party of 20+. Originally when I called I couldn't make reservations for the time I wanted so I settled for 8pm for two lanes and was told for an hour on a Friday night. As expected my party didn't arrive until nine and I was able to push back my reservations. Apparently though after 9pm the price of the lanes go up by $20-the guy fortunately got me at 8:59pm. The bouncers at the door were very friendly and helpful. They also let you bring a cake without any cutting fees which is rare. Service is very poor-you probably won't see your waitress for awhile even when you want to pay your bill. Drinks are a bit pricey $10. I liked them but my friends said they weren't that good. Fun atmosphere-recommend two hours for a lane if you're having a party. It's 8 to a lane and the cost of shoes. Pros: bowling, lounge, music, free parking, bring in cake Cons: no dancing, poor service, pricey drinks more

Great Bowling--Horrible Service 2/12/2007

We planned a great 2 hour bowling party. Drinks took 1 hr 45 minutes to come to us and the food never arrived. We were really disappointed. The waitress was new and inexperienced. The facility was dirty and old dishes were sitting everywhere for hours. The bowlingballs are damaged and old. One game for 5 people cost approx $120.00. We were very disappointed. Pros: bowling set up, location Cons: service, cost, parking more

not as cool as it tries to be 11/3/2006

just another over priced bar. not the coolest thing around, service is sub par, prices high, to loud to hold a conversation. Not open until 2 am as stated, was closed at 1:20 am the other day. Ok to check it out once but not a place to frequent. Pros: not much Cons: tries to be more than it really is, not a cool place for the south bay area more

Definitley worth a visit 10/21/2006

First let me say, this is torrance and the sleepy south bay, so to see such a cool bowling alley in this neighborhood is awesome. The decor, music, lighting, ambiance, food, and drinks are EXCEPTIONAL for a BOWLING Alley!!! People complaining about service or drink quality are getting a little over board here, after all, this is a bowling alley in a SUBURB, not a bar at the ritz carlton. It is unique and cool, and I suggest people go check it out. Pros: great decor, not crowded Cons: None more

poor service, server had no idea what she was doing 10/8/2006

cool place but poor service!!! servers don't know anything ie: what comes in my drink, a cosmo then when we tried to order food from her and she had to read from the menu to know what came in our food. Music to loud, couldn't see tv's clearly from the booth, food came out quick but never saw the server again until we waved her down for our bill, to hard to find the bathrooms. will go somewhere else next time. Pros: the newest place around for a while Cons: poor service!!! more

hot chicks in short skirts!! 10/8/2006

ok place, cold beers and hot girls in short skirts!! Chicks are hot in the short skirts with long legs. Not the place to try to hook up or meet someone and the dress code doesn't make any sense if they're trying to keep out the wrong people-had a fight at the bar in the afternoon, to many kids!! Pros: short skirts, cold beer Cons: to many kids more

Great Food, unique atmosphere 10/2/2006

We needed something like this in Torrance. The bar crowd is great. We went on a Friday and had a few drinks and spent the rest of the night on the lanes. The DJ was great, and our cocktail server was all over everything. Great new local spot. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere more
