I have been going to LS in Belmar nearly since it opened (when it was good), and this was by far my worst bowling lane experience. It used to be clean and well kept, now the machines are in disrepair, the lanes were FAR from evenly oiled, and the staff was rude and not helpful. I have had better service in dive-bar style lanes than the ""famed"" Lucky Strike.
Their ball return machines kept screwing up, and we'd have to go to the desk to get the person to find someone to fix it. The machine ended up destroying my sister's personal ball, and when she brought it up to the staff, they said ""Not our problem."" There are NO signs anywhere stating that they are not responsible for damage to balls, they just brushed her off and gave her a card for repair AT HER OWN EXPENSE!!!!
When I called corporate, I got the same song and dance...""NOT OUR PROBLEM.""
For as much as they charge for food, (which you may or may not eventually get due to their lack of caring or present wait staff), they can afford to fix both my sister's ball and their machine. My ball was also damaged, but since it was second in line from hers, the damage was minor. Hers will need a full resurfacing. I am sure if it was league night, and they had serious bowlers there, they'd repair the ball, but since it was open bowling, they could give a hoot.
PLAYER BEWARE!!!!! Save yourself some money, and do some REAL BOWLING at Green Mountain Lanes, Wheat Ridge Lanes, or other REAL bowling alleys, these guys are a bar disguised as a bowling establishment.
