Worst

Very disapointed with Lowes. I made a purchase online and had to return the items. I went into the store and it took nearly 2 hours to complete the return. Absolutly rediculous.

Lowe's is much better than home depot 8/11/2009

I typically don't like home improvement chains, but this location is great. They staff seems a bit overworked, but they're always friendly and very knowledgeable. The prices rival home depot, but the service is a thousand times better than home depot more

Lowes Lincolnwood 4/29/2009

In attempted to inquire about an advertised rebate offer on some building material I need to purchase. I called the store and no one I spoke to was able to answer my question, but I was told they would call me back after "looking into it." Days later, after no return call, I phoned again, asked again for the rebate details, was put on hold for several minutes before someone picked up and hung up on me.I'm buying elsewhere, trying to save a hundred dollars on a few thousand dollars worth of materials isn't worth the hassle I always experience with this chain. more

Not bad 7/11/2005

l find that it's impossible to get a sales person's attention at this location. I spent 15 minutes near the wood cutting area after three people tried to call someone over. It was really ridiculous and this is not the first time I experienced the lack of assistance. The merchandise and prices seem to be a little nicer than Home Depot or Menards and the prices slightly higher in some cases. It's an OK place to get what you need as long as you don't need a lot of assistance. more

WOW - Service like a small hardware store 6/27/2005

One guy in their tiling department helped me for no less than a 1/2 hour with picking out the right mortar, grout, sealer, tile type (since I was doing it outdoors for a BBQ) and tools. Then he gave me installation tips that have truly helped. I really should have gotten his name to tell his manager how helpful he was. Besides that, their selection rivals that of HD in all areas except the gardening section. more

The only Lowe's for miles 6/23/2005

I can't find any other Lowe's either, so it is nice to have this one in the near north suburbs. It is good to have a competitor to Home Depot and Menards! The selection is higher quality than HD or Menards. The service seems average. The store layout is excellent, and it's very clean. more

Too Bad there aren't more nearby 6/22/2005

Lowes has a huge selection, is easy to locate items and the staff is very helpful. Unfortunately, the Skokie location is the only one I've found between Chicago and the Northern Suburbs. more
