this pizza is really yummy. i cant get enough of it.the other food is tasty to.the bar section is comfortable and has lots of selection.louis is well known in the detroit area and has been making customers happy for over 25 years.the interior is really nice with a sparkly ceiling,twinkly lights,and flowers.its always busy but never to busy to find a table. My favourite pizza 8/12/2004

I only discovered Loui's Pizza four years ago and I'm glad I did. I live an hour's drive from the restaurant but I make sure to visit at least once a week. I've never tasted any pizza like it. It's rich, thick, and flavourful, and I recommend it to anyone who likes pizza. Even better, this year they have been renovating and it looks like new, I love the red-and-white decor. this is one of the best pizzas i ever sank my teeth into.thick and crunchy with a crust that taste much like bacon and loads of cheese.the waitresses where pleasent and the atmosphere was kinda like retro.if you order a bottle of wine and drink it there,you sign it and they will hang it on the wall.my family and i will make this place a once a week must. A metro Detroit institution for decades, Loui's Pizza deserves all of the accolades it receives. While its centrepiece is its oft-imitated-but-never-duplicated pizza, it boasts a full menu with every item a delight. Loui's Pizza has a warm, friendly atmosphere. Many of the wait staff have been there for years, and are very friendly, remembering repeat customers by name. Nothing could please me more than a Louis pizza, a cold Boomba of beer along with an antipasto salad and outstanding dressing.Crunchy crust and just the right amount of toppings oozing with cheese.This long time operating buisness is highly spoken about and is refered to me often from friends,not knowing that its my favorite pizza in the world.Louis is truly the king of all pizza.Not to mention all his other dishes are great too,like the baked cappaletti and the Louis Special grilled sandwich with sliced steak,cheese,and special sauce (also a favorite).If i where asked what i want for Xmas ,birthdays,or special occation or just to go for dinner ............my pick would be LOUIS.Go early and avoid the crowd.I might add to make reservations of parties of 6 or more a day in advance on weekends.credit cards taken.gift certifacates also avalable.Another hint...park across the street. after a long day out with our family,we always go to louis for pizza,salad and a louis special sandwich.no one beats the legend of louis.he is the king of pizzas.after winning the blue ribbon for buddys pizza years and years back,which that pizza was his own recipe not buddys!he then went on to shields for 7 years and now he has his own place in hazel park for sum 20 plus yrs now.his pizza can not be duplicated by all the others and buddys whom is riding off him for years.give the credit to whom it is deserved too!louis is truly a dining experence.best pizza and salad around .even his staff is friendly and establishment is clean and prices are fair.great place for a party or special occasion.food is always fresh and consistant.this is my familys choice for years. About Loui's Pizza 10/18/2003

I grew up two blocks away from Loui's pizza, we used to go there when it was De Angelo's( which in itself had some pretty darn good pizza)......Sheilds pizza on outer drive/ 7 mile(I was pretty young , so I don't remember the exact location) was the original creator of this type of pizza, but the chef(Loui) left sheilds to work at Loui's Pizza when it opened, Buddy's pizza's recipe is also that of Sheilds.....the creator of that recipe must have been pretty proud, (if you notice all of these restaraunts are in the TOP TEN listed for the DETROIT AREA)....Steve Langewicz more

Been going to Louie's for 30 years and it's the best. Now that we live so far away, I stop and get lunch when in the area and take a ""half baked"" to go. They shipped them every where before - half baked and flash frozen. Don't know if they still do but bringing one all the way up north is sure worth it.
