The Longhorn was, in it's time, the friendliest place in town and served wonderful food in a rustic, relaxed atmosphere. Since the 'Joint' sold in February of 2008, it has taken on the appearance of a dime store western prop. The food has lost it's home made quality and value, and has been replaced with pricy pre-packaged items loaded with MSG and generic flavor (unless you count the burnt crusts or charred burger patties, those are definately authentic) The atmosphere is now tense and uncomfortable.
I once loved going to the Longhorn, enjoyed many celebrations and lengthy dinners with friend and family there. It breaks my heart to watch this icon die.
Pros: A better place to eat is within walking distance
Cons: Poor management reflects in service, atmosphere, and food quality
