Superb 6/10/2010

Long Bay is an amazing club that has an astonishing layout. Jack really out did himself on this course. The bunkers were great and the island green was one of my favorite parts. If you enjoy layouts try this course...you won't be disappointed! more

A Jack Special 6/8/2010

Jack has made use of his somewhat traditional waste bunkers, they add a different element to the course. Easy to play from for the low handicapper (because you can ground your club and just play it as a tight fairway lie), but for the weekend golfer these areas can be troublesome. Truly a remarkable course with many opportunities for risk / rewards shots. Many par 5's are reachable in two, for the long hitters, but the greens are well protected by water or bunkers. Also the island green 13th ( found out while I was playing the surface area of the green is smaller than that of 17th @ TPC Sawgrass. With the tee boxes offering the entire spectrum of distance, The Long Bay Club will cater to many levels of golfers, offering a challenge but still not punishing. Pros: A great risk reward golf course, Cons: lots of waste bunkers! more

A great Nicklaus test 6/7/2010

This is a great test of golf for golfers of all handicap levels. Many of the visuals are striking, but don't let them intimidate you! I enjoy it more and more each time I play. Pros: Challenging layout, great conditions more

Thanks for the Memories Jack 6/3/2010

From the first tee shot to the finishing putt, you can definitely see that Jack has incorporated a lot of his tour experiences into Long Bay. Even though the fairways offer forgiveness off the tee boxes, there is a demand for golf management and shot-making to the greens. However, you will be dazzled with island greens, deep bunkers, true rolling bent-grass greens, and scenic views of South Carolina's surroundings. Every staff member is very professional and courteous. Pros: Excellent design and beautiful clubhouse Cons: Not for the beginner golfer more

Nice Layout 6/3/2010

Enjoyed the island green... Pros: Great condition Cons: Small greens more

A Golfer's Golf Course! 1/11/2010

If you want a true challenge on a beautiful, well manicured golf course, try this Jack Nicklaus signature course. It is very forgiving off the tee with fairly wide fairways. Don't be fooled however, if you miss a green, any green, Long Bay generally wins. Most all of the greens are undulated and well protected by bunkers and/or grassy slopes. Hit the greens and you can score but either way, it is a fun experience on one of the premier courses in the Myrtle Beach area. Also has a great practice range, chipping green and putting green and you can be sure to be greeted by a most professional and courteous staff - typical of all Myrtle Beach National group's golf courses. Try it - you'll like it...again and again! Pros: Very challenging and always in great shape! more

my golf course review 1/11/2010

The long bay club is a true jack nicklaus signiture course. He gives you a lot of room off the tee. Second shot is a tough one, but not to worry. If you miss the green there are plenty of bunkers to stop your ball. The greens are the truest on the beach. more

Excellent Golf Course 1/10/2010

I have played this course several times. Everytime I go out on the course it gives me a great challenge. The course is always in excellent shape and the staff is unforgettable. I recommend playing this course everytime you come to myrtle beach. This is an awesome track. more
