Wouldn't go anywhere else 11/21/2012

My wife and I have been bringing our dogs to Lockridge Animal Hospital since before Drs McCammon and Richard took the practice over from Dr Lockridge himself in 1996. Over the years we've had appointments with all of the doctors on the hospital's letterhead; they and the rest of the staff have provided nothing less than excellent care, and not only on routine checkups. With 4 dogs we've been through 2 cases of liver cancer, an enlarged heart, a stroke, a bullet removal and a fairly advanced case of heartworm. With each illness they've done a good job of explaining what was involved and giving us their honest assessment of the risks, the costs and the likelihood of our dog coming out of it with a qood quality of life.\r \r I can't comment on how the cost of treatment at their practice compares to other veteranarians because we haven't been anywhere else (except for emergency clinics when absolutely necessary). Great team to work with 3/22/2010

I recently adopted two kittens (1 from a litter, the other a stray from FMAS) within a month of each other, and shortly after the stray arrived the litter kitten became very sick and lethargic. The emergency clinic wanted over $1000 for 24 hours' worth of care, just to monitor him and not even do bloodwork. Instead I took him to Lockridge, where Dr. Richards and the staff gave him all the attention, bloodwork, and vaccinations he needed for around $200 (since he was sick and a first-time patient, they let him stay overnight for free. FREE.). This team of doctors is the greatest I've seen in a long time and it's evident that they care a great deal about the pets they work with. Being a first-time pet owner on my own, I didn't know much about taking my cats to the vet and the proper order of vaccinations, etc. The doctors and receptionists were very knowledgeable and explained everything to me up front and in terms I could understand. I'd highly recommend them to anyone! more
