Lime is terrible 4/3/2011

This is the second time I've visited Lime. The first time, I was using my Groupon and we found a hair in both of our meals. The second time we came (tonight) the waiter forgot about us and it took over an hour to get our meal. We had to ask for napkins twice, water twice, pepper twice, napkins and silverware. I am extremely disappointed in the service of Lime. I will be posting this comment on Yelp, FourSquare, etc. I have visited various restaurants in Atlanta and this is, by far, the most disappointing. Unfortunately for the chef he will lose my service. My food was excellent. So kudos to the chef!!!! more

Best Mexican in Smyrna! 2/20/2011

Was here with a party and the staff was very friendly, food was brought out in a timely manner and the drinks that we ordered were really delicious and were nice and strong, just like I like them. I'd highly recommend this place to others and this place is great if you want to host a party, they have a nice section in the back that gives privacy and the staff is very accommodating. more

The Lime...HMMM 12/20/2010

Great atmostsphere and okay drinks, but the food wasn't so awesome. Besides the queso, which you could get at any Mexican restaurant, the rest of the food was not good. I will say I'm kinda picky but I will try new food and it was definitely nothing to write home about. more

Below average 8/22/2010

We visited this place in the Village on a Sunday afternoon. I was surprised how empty it was until I tasted the food. The tacos are bland and boring. The mole sauce was inedible. The chips and salsa were just ok. Plenty of other places to go in the area, I would not go back or recommend this spot. more

Don't Go! 4/28/2010

The food is ok, if you just want to try something different. Nothing monumental. Would not recommend to friends or rave about for a special occasion or to just hang out. The staff can't help but be awful, the manager had a terrible attitude also. The area where the restaurant is located is extremely nice. I would recommend going to another restaurant instead. Probably will eventually close unless alot changes. It's not the prices or the food thats bad, it's just not typical mexican>>>at all.....it's the staff. Will be tempted not to tip. I was bigger than that though. I would give it a thumbs down. Avoid the experience. Try another spot. Sad, but true! Pros: If you are going for drinks only, the service sucks! Cons: Hostile, unfriendly atmosphere! Staff argued w/each other. more

Don't bother 11/5/2009

We just moved to West Village and naturally wanted to visit the restaurant offerings here. We were a little surprised to have such a lackluster experience at what we thought was a mid-level to high-end mexican cuisine place. Our waitress was kind but in addition to tilting her drink tray perilously close to our faces, her neglect of us in a deserted establishment only added to our disappointment after the food arrived. No flavor, color cooked out of everything and not a place we'll visit again. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: very bland food, inexperienced wait staff, ill-timed service more

Substandard Mexican Fare 11/2/2009

We were excited to try this restaurant for lunch since it's close to our home. We tried a variety of the tacos, to include the chicken with mole sauce, the fish taco and the lobster taco. We also had margaritas, which were pretty good. However, the mole sauce on the chicken was powdery and had a bitter, burnt flavor. I could not eat it. The fish taco was okay, but nothing comparable to the fish tacos I ate in Southern California. The lobster taco was. . .lets say.. .not fresh. Ocean, fishy flavor and I also could not eat this. I am sad to say that we will not be back to this place. It's a nice atmosphere and the margaritas were fine, but the food made us both have an upset stomach and we could not eat anything for the rest of the day. Pros: Good Drinks Cons: Very poorly executed cuisine more

Pricey, but very good! 8/1/2009

I've gone to Lime about once every 2 months or so and would go there more often if the prices came down. I think the food is amazing- lots of flavor and inventive dishes, but the quantity/price ratio is out of proportion. My husband has to order 3-5 taco dishes to leave full...and that's with an appetizer. The entree dishes are plenty big (the shrimp entree is my favorite!)- but the tacos and starters are tiny. With 2 drinks a piece, an appetizer, a salad split (the Caesar is perfect!), an entree for me and 4 tacos for my husband...our bill is approaching $80. Pros: Great martinis, food and atmosphere Cons: Too expensive more

Over priced!!! 6/12/2009

We paid $12 for a Mango Mojito, it was delicious but as a light weight, I thought for sure a $12 drink would give me a slight buzz! NO!!! The tacos are expensive $4-$6 for a very small 3-4 bite taco...I was very disappointed in this place! Such a let down! Great atmosphere but lacking due to the price! We have no problem dropping $50 for dinner but we want to walk away a little buzzed or at least full. I had to make sandwiches for dinner once we got home. Pros: Great drink, some of the food was delicious Cons: weak drinks, EXPENSIVE! more

Mojito lovers---Lime is the place!! 1/26/2009

I cannot say enough good things about Lime. It's very hard to find a ""nice"" place to dine OTP. Not only is Lime a cool, loungy-type restaurant, but they have excellent drinks--real fruit juice, real cuban-style mojitos--AND the drink prices were very fair for the quality. Most cocktails were under $10. The food is a little more expensive than your average Mexican restaurant, but still, you get what you pay for---and everything I tried was delicious. Try the Carne Asada Taco, it has some sort of potato puree w/ it--whatever it was, it was delicious. My date loved the empanadas and did I mention desert???--- so good! But be forwarned, this is not an all-you can eat, stuff your face for $20 kind of place. A small taco is $4.50, and 1 will not fill you up. But, if you'de like a great drink, a great atmosphere, and to sample some excellent gormet Mexican--well than Lime is your place! Pros: REAL cocktails--no mixes here! Good food, good music. Cons: Parking is limited--we had to walk from a few blocks down. more

What a great time!! 1/24/2009

I say Lime is a MUST visit! I was in with a group of friends and we had an absolute blast! Everything was right on about Lime from the music to the friendly staff! While we were only there for drinks, I am looking forward to heading back to try some tappas! Pros: Great Atmosphere! Cons: None really more

this is not cheap mexican. this is gourmet mexican. set your expectations properly! 8/31/2008

This restaruant comes closest to capturing what the nicest restaurants in Mexico have. \r \r I travel to Mexico on business a great deal. Rarely am I in tourist Mexico, where the restaurants cater to travelers, and offer cheap greasy food - excactly like most of the restaurants here. \r \r Mexico has so many flavors and styles, and yet we get force fed the same. I cannot tell you how many times I've been at some fantastic restaurant in Mexico saying, ""Why can't someone do this kind of restaurant in Atlanta.""\r \r Now someone has.\r \r This restaurant offers a wider variety of flavors, chiles and sauces than what you get in your typical mexican restaurant. The mole was the best I've ever had (better than the original chef at Zocalo). The tacos were fantastic, and the drinks were great.\r \r Our waiter did leave a little to be desired, and I will agree that the salsa portions are too small (and as one reviewer said, you have to break the chips apart to even get at the salsas). Give me more of those wonderful salsas!\r \r This is not cheap Mexican. This isn't a place where you go to get a 32 oz beer and white cheese dip with jalapenos. \r \r This is gourmet Mexican.\r \r If you want ""cheap"" Mexican (really Tex-Mex), go to Los Bravos about a mile a way. They have your chips and salsa, cheese dip and the standard run-of-the mill burrito, taco and enchilada special. I go there weekly. I like my cheap tex-mex, but I love that I now have an option for real authentic Mexcian gourmet.\r \r Actually, i'm convinced that half of the people who give this restaurant 2 or fewer stars thought they were going to go to some $6.99 a plate run-of-the mill cheap Mexican place with cheap margaritas and standard ""food service"" canned salsa. Sorry. \r \r Lime isn't that. It's a Mexican dining experience that I'm thankful to have in the neighborhood.\r \r more

Cute neighborhood spot 6/13/2008

Don't waste your timeor money!! 5/23/2008

My wife and i were very excited about the Lime. We were seated right away on a Friday night. After that it went down hill fast. Waited forever for the waiter. I think he was new. Nice guy, but terrible service! When we finally got our food he would not leave us alone. When it came time for the bill, he could not be found. One of the managers finally came over and took our bill. The appetizer was awesome! We had the Mini Gordia. One of the four tacos I tried was ok, the rest were awful. I guess the chef is trying to be unique. It just doesn't work. My wife was unhappy with her food as well. WAY OVER PRICED for the portions! We will never eat there again! Several of our friends who ate there previously apologized for not warning us. This place had so much potential. They will be out of business within a year. Pros: Location Cons: food, service, price, noise level more

One of the best restaurant 5/22/2008

If u don?t like Lime, u definitely don?t know what quality. . Great service, Great people, Great drinks, Great food.\r \r Too expensive: not at all...keep it simple...go to Taco Bell.\r more

Way too expensive for SMYNINGS 5/4/2008

We just moved to smyrna and are big mexican and margarita lovers. We visit some part of mexico once a year! I was in for a upscale and tasty cuisine this night and was very dissapointed! Although the Margarita was very tasty the food was somewhat shocking. For starters they did not have a childs menu or even anything a child could eat! No, we dont do the hotdog or chicken fingers, he loves rice and chicken and that was difficult for them to comprehend. Seems like restaurants that do not do a childrens menu discourage children, well your families in the big homes up Atlanta road will pay the pricy tab not the college students renting upstairs. Midtown can get away with it! Anywho, we were shocked at the food portions to the price. We literally could not tell if we like the guac because the portion was so small to our 7 chips. I had a shrimp entree that was tasty but left hungry...not good! We walked out still shaking our head at our bill and have not returned! more

Best Authentic Mexican in Atlanta 4/25/2008

I have had many margaritas in my life but this is one of the best. I love the fresh lime and the agave nectar, this is an authentic margarita! The entrees are fresh, light and full of flavor. Lime is authentic mexican cuisine. Lime has it all amazing food on the menu, the great drinks, service and atmosphere. From appetizer to dessert the portions are great. Its a great after work dinner spot. Love it! Love it! Love it! Pros: the experience more

Disappointed 4/24/2008

I was very much looking forward to dinning at Lime Taqueria. The outside is very cute and I have had wonderful experiences at all of the restaurants of West Village. Unfortunately, I found the menu to be way overpriced for such ridiculously small portions. Don't get me wrong, I love tapas restaurants and have eaten at dozens throughout Atlanta. I was so disappointed to find that one of Smyrna's only tapas restaurants would be such a bust. I suppose we will continue to drive to midtown for tapas. more

Great place! 3/25/2008

For those of you who like the typical americanized mexican food, don't even bother coming here; you won't like it. HOWEVER, if you like AUTHENTIC mexican food with a twist, then definitely THIS place is excellent.\r \r No chips and queso dip or ground beef tacos here, this is the real deal. I ordered 4 tacos and all of them were great! The 4 Salsas and chips appetizer was yummy, and the salsas were great (the hot one is VERY hot!).\r \r I'm pregnant so I didn't order a margarita, but everyone else at the restaurant was ordering one, so I assume they're excellent. \r \r The Guava flan dessert was delicious; even my husband liked it (and he's picky!). Definitely a great experience and will be back for more soon! Pros: Tasty food Cons: none! more

Bad food, Too loud 3/6/2008

I had been looking forward to going to lime and I was beyond disappointed. It's so loud in the place that I couldn't hear what my friends were saying across the table, we had to yell to each other. The food was awful, I'm a picky eater so I found nothing I wanted but my two friends aren't and they also saw nothing they wanted. We had to order chips and salsa and they gave us about 7 chips and just a little bit of salsa, I think it's just silly to have to pay for chips and salsa that are not even good. We ended up just asking for our check and leaving. It was just disappointing. more
