YELLED AT MY 80 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER FOR MORE MONEY !! 4/23/2012

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PEOPLE !! THEY YELLED AT MY 80 Y.O GRANDMOTHER DEMANDING MORE CASH !! These people called me after an internet move quote request I submitted online...I don't know how they got my info...I didn't submit it to them. They lied about everything and promised me the world, on move day everything changed. They showed up with day laborers that spoke no English...were incredibly lazy rude and had no idea what they were doing. They obviously use fake 5 star reviews to make themselves look better....at delivery...almost all my goods were broken...and they yelled at my 80 year old grandma trying to extort money from her !!....when I checked them out to complain...I found out the USDOT fined them 25000.00 in 2011 for holding customers goods hostage !! These people are criminals !! ...they should not be in business !! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !! more

My excellent moving experience 4/21/2012

Lightning Van Lines just moved me from Fremont CA to Tampa FL. I will be happy to share my smooth experience with them. First, they kept me in touch with their arrival for pick up and drop off. Second, the crew that made the pick was unbelievably quick. They packed and loaded everything very carefully and professionally. At my drop off location I had a different crew but once again they were as efficient as the pick up crew. Lastly, but not least important both crews were very polite and clean. I definitely recommend Lightning Van Lines to anyone who consider future relocation because with them the move is closes to stress free.Thank you more

Would Use Again 4/19/2012

We were referred to Lightning Van Lines by a friend who heard about them from her realtor, Jill Rudman. Their pricing was fair and accurate; they went over every possible charge ahead of time and we opted to have a full pack and move from California to Lake Geneva, Wi. They packed all our boxes on a Tuesday, loaded the everything onto the truck on Wednesday, and delivered on Thursday, as was the arrangement. The guys were so friendly and patient, while handling all of our belongings. I would certainly recommend them to anyone in the california area looking for a smooth moving experience:) more

The company I work for [HR ] has been using Lightning van lines for a few years now to perform employee moves so I really didn't have a say in the matter but I honestly can say I couldn't have asked for better service. I always say a company is only as good as its weakest link and there were none to be found here. I am not typically one to write reviews but thought the service earned one. more

Very Satisfied 4/14/2012

I was very worried about using a moving company because of the many stories I'm sure everyone has heard. I selected Lightning Van Lines because of their competitive price and also from the minute I talked to the salesman Nathan he walked me through every aspect of the move and how everything will work. On the day of my move they sent me a very professional crew that very carefully packed my furniture. They were very efficient and quick and made this move very smooth. I appreciate the great service from top to bottom and definitely would use them again and recommend them to friends and family. more

Handled with care 4/14/2012

This was a family heirloom that I was very worried about. It was delivered in perfect condition. It was well protected and the delivery guys were awesome and so personable. They were even interested in its history... a over 150 year old bureau that had been to Montana and back to Ohio during Homesteading era. Thanks! more

I am working with a car dealing company and we need to deliver cars to various places across whole Texas. We use Lightning Van Lines’ service for this. They are delivering our cars for two years now. I must say that the business with Compass Van Lines is going really good so far. The men from Lightning Van Lines are doing a satisfying job. They are doing everything as per the contract. My Move to Washington Went Smoothly 4/11/2012

I can't begin express how helpful they were on this move. We didn't know were to begin. They advised on how we could save money by doing most of the packing and we decided that they would pack our fragile furniture. The price difference from the last move was so much cheaper and the best thing about it was that they were honest and upfront about there pricing. We received delivery in 16 days. It wasguarenteed as we were concerned for our childre not having beds,but they complied. We are very happy with the results! more

WORST MOVERS EVER ! 4/4/2012

ALL FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS ! I used this company recently on a move from san francisco to LA...they were absolutely the worst company ive ever used ! They lied about flat pricing, charged me an extra 1500.00 on move day, were incredibly rude and argumentative the entire time. They showed up late for the move and made me miss my flight to start off and it was only worse from there ! They claim to be a family owned company but the guys that showed up spoke no english and were obviously day laborers...i was pissed, i went to the usdot website and found out they were fined 25,000.00 last year for fraudulent activities and taking of consumer shipments hostage demanding more money ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !! more

Free onsite estimate ! 3/27/2012

During our free estimate, you instilled such confidence in us with respect to Lightning Van Lines's abilities we did not even get other bids. Our confidence was more that warranted after Roy, the foreman during our move, replied, ""Whatever you want!"" when I asked him about moving certain objects. Those words were like music to my ears after all the other confusion and horrible service I experienced in other areas of our move! The crew worked hard and tirelessly, while staying polite and helpful, and they also helped make an exhausting day a little less stressful. Satisfaction 3/25/2012

Recently I moved with Lightning Van Lines. I must tell you this is my third move and each time I used a different moving company. I was not satisfied with the first two but in Lightning Van Lines I received excellent services. The salesperson was friendly and answered all my questions. The movers were prompt and did a professional job. I was very pleased with Lightning and I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends, and also use them for any future move for myself. more

Lightning Van Lines crew was excellent, professional, punctual and very personal! The move was set up taking into consideration the smallest of details. They patiently worked through many different scenarios (moving dates, items to be moved, etc) until I could figure out the best plan for my move. This made things so much easier and I am very satisfied with the service. more

I made a movement locally in Oakland area with Lightning Van lines. The relocation gentleman was very professional and provided me with a fair price for my things. I was most happy because when they showed up at my place, there was no increase or change in the price I was quoted. I could not have asked for a better team! 3/20/2012

On January 4th I moved from Palo Alto to San Francisco. Never having moved such a possessions before, I was anticipating a nightmare of a day but the two gentlemen?s you sent to assist me in this endeavor, Jose and Sam, made all the difference. Besides being extremely careful with everything (both my furniture and the two apartments) they were efficient, professional, polite and all around a pleasure to work with. I could not have asked for a better team. more

Very Pleased 3/19/2012

My wife and I recently moved from Los Angeles to Washington to be near our grandkids. I have tendonitis in my hand and my wife is in need of a new hip. Yes, what a pair. We needed young strong guys to help us pack up and move. We had several companies come out and give us quotes. After all the hoopla and too high of promises I chose to go with Lightning Van Lines because they seemed honest and didn’t promise the world. Nancy told it like it was when she came to our home to give us a visual estimate. On the day of the move three young strong men came and quickly packed up our home of 42 years. I thought it would take days but they arrived early in the morning and were done just before dinner. They even packed some of my most precious belongings in our trailer. Lightning has free storage for one month so we spent the next two weeks traveling in our home on wheels up the coast visiting friends and making new ones. When we knew our arrival date in Spokane, we gave them a call. Our worldly possessions arrived just a few days after we closed on our new house. I recommend Lightning Van Lines to anyone who is moving. more
