Editorial review from Citysearch 3/22/2013

I have a daughter in kindergarten and a son in second grade. Liberty offers challenging academics coupled with a wonderful learning environment, including small class sizes and warm and caring teachers who get to know the students and families very well and care deeply about their progress. The curriculum also promotes the development of character traits and leadership qualities as well as critical thinking skills. Oral presentations and public speaking are strongly emphasized throughout the school year; my 8 year old is not nervous at all getting up in front of a large group of people are reciting a poem or presenting the findings from a science project. On top of this, they also learn about God and develop a moral, ethical and theological framework from which to build their worldview. It is reflected in all aspects of their teaching and woven throughout the curriculum--not just ""Classical Learning plus Bible."" This is what sets Liberty apart from other private, Christian, or charter schools available in MN. It is a truly integrated approach. My children are thriving, they absolutely love Liberty and look forward to school every day. more

Great education in a warm and loving family envoirnment 9/16/2008

This fall our daughters began their third year at Liberty Classical Academy (LCA). We feel that moving our girls out of the public school setting into a private, Christian school has been the best educational decision we have made on their behalf, because they are being given the tools they need to prepare them for their future. They are mastering basic, fundamental principals in core subjects, rather than glazing over topics. They are also learning to think for themselves instead of being bombarded with teacher?s lectures and sometimes empty options. Best of all while all this great teaching is going on, they don?t have to compromise what they hold true in their hearts - their faith in Jesus Christ.\r \r During their K-12 school years, there is nothing more refreshing to us as parents than to send our children out of our home and into a school that echoes what we are teaching them. To have connections at a school full of families that are like-minded. To not fret about the kinds of influences their peers are having on them.\r \r Our children feel safe and secure in their classroom and social settings at LCA, which fosters healthy and meaningful growth, not only academically, but also emotionally and spiritually.\r \r To have a place that provides a quality education, as well as being intentional about developing Christ-like character and meaningful relationships is very difficult to find, but we found that at Liberty. We are so grateful to be a part of what is known as the Liberty family.\r Pros: Great student body, great teachers and administration, small town atmosphere in the middle of a big city Cons: At one time the school was in one location, but it has grown so much (that's a pro) that we are now one school at two different campuses. Part of the family is missing. more

Top-Notch Liberal Arts Education 7/1/2008

My children have been enrolled in Liberty Classical Academy for five years, and my husband and I have never regretted our decision to pay for this private Christian schooling rather than take the free government education. The classical method means our kids are learning comprehensive history, literature and science, not just scattered bits and pieces. They're learning how to think deeply and broadly, and how to put the big picture together. Then, they're taught to express themselves accurately, persuasively, through drama, debate and written papers. Best of all, they are taught to seek God's truth in all subjects, not to banish spiritual truth to one Bible class per week. This is the kind of prep school education many people pay college-level tuitions for, and we get it for an affordable price -- PLUS, it nourishes our kids' faith rather than destroys it. We're so excited about this we can't tell enough people! Pros: Small class sizes, individual attention, loving teachers, involved parents, non-denominational Cons: Not enough people know about it so the sports are still just growing, but that's a pro, too, because kids with less experience get to play more! more
