Amazing massage 1/23/2010

Went there once just before Christmas. Was totally stressed because of all the holiday rushing and had an amazing experience. Felt very relaxed. Chris, the therapist, has a great touch and she hit all the right pressure points. Very deep massage. One of my complaints about other places is that they don't have therapists that can do very deep work but Chris was definitely the exception. I have now been back a second time and will continue to frequent Essential Bodywork, especially around the holidays :) I absolutely recommend going here!! Pros: Deep tissue and wonderful ambiance Cons: None more

If you need a great massage -- look no further!!! 11/14/2009

I have been to Essential Bodyworks a number of times. It is just a very nice place, cozy, warm and lovely place to have a massage. I am a bit of a massage junkie and this is by far my favorite place to the point that now this is the only place I go for massage!!! Pros: Comfy, relaxing, warm and clean Cons: None more

Best Space for Massage 5/14/2007

I really like Essential Bodywork because they have consistently good therapists and the atmosphere is really nice. It is very clean and has a good decor. They are always on time which is also important to me. It is a bit out of my way as I live in another town, but I coordinate it with my vegetable shopping at Wilson's Farm. Pros: Very nice and clean and serene place Cons: None I can think of. more

Great deep tissue massage 5/3/2007

its easy to get an appointment and all of the therapists I tried are great. I've tried lots of places- this is my favorite. more

A very relaxing, enjoyable experience 2/11/2006

I purchased a massage for my girlfriend. I called the same day and was able to get an evening appointment (which was extremely convenient). We were met promptly and my girlfriend underwent the most relaxing Swedish massage of her life (her words). Brenda, the therapist, was the epitome of professionalism and skill. I have never seen my girlfriend so relaxed after a massage! I would recommend this place to all my friends. As a side benefit, you can coordinate a trip to Wilson Farms, an excellent grocery/farm store, with your massage. Life does not get much better than this. Pros: Skilled therapists, Calm atmosphere, Honors promotions more

Great Deep Tissue Massage! 10/19/2005

As a Chiropractor in Lexington, I find that some of my patients greatly benefit from having massage therapy in conjunction with their treatment in my office. I refer patients to Essential Bodywork and Massage, and they greatly enjoy the massages they receive by the knowledgeable therapists there. There is a warm and inviting atmosphere that will relax anyone prior to their session, and the whole experience will leave them wanting to return for more as soon as they can. Pros: relaxing atmosphere, skilled staff, eves and weekends more

I run a Personal Chef service, and find that cooking for 6+ hours a day makes me incredibly tight in the neck and shoulders. The therapists at EBM know exactly what to do for me when I walk in the door. It's like visiting a friend who is there to provide comfort and relief. I always leave feeling fabulous. The environment is incredibly soothing and there are days I don't want to get off their incredibly comfortable massage tables. I'd highly recommend this place. Pros: Comfortable, Professional more

Soothing atmosphere and great massage 5/21/2005

Love the place, feeling and no matter who I use, I have gotten a great massage. Also, I really like how easy it is to book. They answer phone all hours to schedule. Also, no issues with parking - you can just park in front. Location is easy - mass ave and right off of rt. 2. Overall - extremely satisfied and the pricing is fair too. more

Wow! 5/19/2005

I've never felt so good. The personality, and atmosphere, and comfort was just what I needed for a first timer like me. Pros: parking, lots of opennings, deep work more

It Really Is Therapeutic 5/19/2005

At first I went to EBM because it was located so near to my home, but now I would gladly travel to get there. When I arrived I had been struggling through a couple of years of increasing low back and hip pain and was starting to believe that I'd just have to live with it. I have been working with Chris for about 6 months now and have been experiencing less and less discomfort and renewed mobility and flexibility. The environment that Chris has created is inviting and relaxing and she has a gift for the work she has chosen. Pros: Great Environment, Professional yet warm, Very accessible more

Great Massages from Highly Skilled Therapists 5/19/2005

I have been a client for many years and I wouldn't think of going someplace else. I have recieved many different types of massage from different people during my lifetime, and I must say that the massages I receive at Essential Bodywork & Massage have been among the best. I leave feeling a deep sense of relaxation that lasts for quite a long time. I know that these massages help keep my mind and body fit. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the office is a beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend Essential Bodywork & Massage. more

I always have a great experience at Essential Bodywork and Massage. I work at a desk all day, so I tend to keep a lot of tension in my back and neck. The therapists are very responsive to indivival needs and the massages are the best in the area. As soon as I step into the office, I feel relaxed. The office is very welcoming and it also convenient to get to. Parking is not a problem and the flexible hours are also a great plus. more

aesthetically pure massage 5/18/2005

The best quality massage available in the Boston area that I have experienced. It's not in a mall, or run by students. Devoted professionals that absolutely know what they are doing, in an extremely skilled and caring atmosphere. more

The Best 5/18/2005

Delightful, calming ambiance. Friendly, helpful and just a feel good experience. Deep tissue massage that really works and gets out the "kinks" in the most soothing surroundings. Cons: great parking, friendly, helpful more

Best Massage Office in the Boston Area 3/21/2005

I have received massage for years and Essential Bodywork is the best office I've found. Essentials' office is unique because they just specialize in therapeutic massage and you don't have to deal with the smells and busyness of spas. They have high quality therapists and service and I love that they are open 7 days a week until 9pm. I know that I can get a massage from any of the therapists and it will be a terrific massage. The therapists at Essential are all very caring and attentive to what I am needing. I have not found the combination of warm, talented therapists who can work as deeply as I need them to, a beautiful serene office and reasonable prices anywhere else. I have to travel a little ways to get there, but it is totally worth it. Once you try Essential, you won't want to go anywhere else. Pros: good parking, deep tissue, beautiful office more

User review by arlingtonarts 2/26/2005

EBM is a rare treasure. They focus only on what they do best - therapeutic massage - and they make the experience wonderful. The minute you step into their peaceful, simple space you know you are in for a good experience, and they don't disappoint. The individual spaces are quietly beautiful and the massage tables are unbelievably comfortable and accommodating. Of course, what really matters is the skill and style of the massage therapist - and in my opinion EBM is tops in the area. There are several therapists, but the two I've experienced were totally in tune with my needs, strong, and highly skilled. And my one hour massages are always 60 minutes. Just a great experience and results. Pros: Skilled people, Clean, peaceful, Open great hours more

Amazing Hands 3/22/2004

As a client for over 5 years, I am always amazed at the strength, sensitivity, and thoroughness of every massage that I receive. I have referred dozens of people to Essential and they always call and thank me for having shared such a wonderful resource. The studio is so relaxing, from the moment you step off Mass. Ave, you enter into bliss... Pros: professional, caring, deep more

Great Massage 3/1/2004

I thought the massage was great, but a little too pricey for the total amount of time I was worked on ( about 50 min ) the pressure was good and the staff was welcoming. Good hours also. I will try it again to see if I get my full 60min that extra 10min make a big difference when your back is tight. Pros: Location, Great Hours, Skills more

fabulous service 2/24/2004

Well if you want a massage that is deep and thourough this is the place. The therapists are so skilled that when I leave my muscles feel like I am walking on a cloud. An hour sometimes feels like a day. The office is high class and yet comfy and feels nothing like the hair and nail salons. They focus on massage, and they do it well. more
