go anywhere else but here. this place sucks. troy and kevin are running this place in the ground. look at the .... reviews nothing good about this place since troy took it over. paid my sons in full in may and he still only got to drive 1 time since than. even had to renew his permit last week. he had a drive time today 7/23/16 from 1230 to 330. and kevin never called or showed up and phone went to voice mail. my son lost money by not working and still didn't get to drive. after this review im logging on to ... and richland county BBB to make out a couple more reviews... more

Do not use this course---go elsewhere and FAST!!! 5/19/2016

When I signed my son up we were told 6-8 weeks and you will be done. It has now been 12 weeks and we are still waiting to do our driving portion. In the parent/teen safety class "Troy" states that the students closer to being able to get their license will get to drive first....NOT the case. My son has been eligible for his license (other than finishing training) since before he started the course 12 weeks ago, where I paid in full on day 1 so there would not be any hold ups to getting his license. The staff never relays messages as they say the will to Troy and Troy is arrogant and let the fact that he bought a reputable business go to his head and he is ruining it fast. When I called another training site, they knew who I had been dealing with before I even told them and said they have received 12 calls with the same concern and complaint as me in the last month! Lew Petit school wants your money and then holds you hostage until they are legally obligated to finish your child's drivers training. more

Lew Petit Is not a good choice. 4/24/2016

The state of Ohio requires driving schools to complete the course within 6 months. Lew Petit interprets this as their only time requirement. I paid for my sons course in full before the classroom section and we are now sitting around waiting for "the call" for him to take the driving portion of the class. Every time we call to try to get the driving portion scheduled we are told "classes are 6 weeks out and we have 6 months to do this." Other kids have gone through their entire course (at other schools) and have their licenses now, but not my son, he gets to sit and wait for months. There are other schools out there, I recommend using someone else, unless your willing to wait, and wait and wait... more

When my son moved down here from New York, he did not have a license. First thing he got was his permit. However, it became obvious that I was not a very good instructor. Personally, I think parents do not make good driving instructors. I located this driving school, and my son was enrolled. He took several lessons, which included a class outlining the rules of the road here in Ohio, as well as the standard driving instructions. He was taken out in traffic, on the highways, and was instructed in the fine art of driving in the cones for the parking part of the test. He also liked his teacher, who was professional and friendly. I believe he had about 6 or 7 road lessons, and both my son and the driving instructor felt he was ready for the test. The school provided a car for the test, took him down to the testing area, and he took the test to pass on the first try. Cars are essential in this area, unlike New York where public transportation is available and the most common means of getting around. In order for my son to get a job here, he needed to have a car and a license. I feel Petit helped him attain his license quickly and properly and got him on the road to do the job thing. A fine school, professional and reasonably priced. A good choice for the beginner who needs help or the older person who is just getting around to driving. more
