I have spoken to so many people in this city who feel the same way that I do about this shyster lawyer. She took 5,000.00 from us. Did not appear in court once on my daughters behalf. Billed her 75.00 over and over for ""leaving a message!"" - ran us completely out of money. Did not get any interim child support or ANY kind of order. Gave us terrible legal advice that almost cost us everything. When I questioned her about the bill she became hostile; slapped a lien on my daughters condo (who is a poor waitress and single mom) - took us to the cleaners with her bill and dumped my daughter because she could not come up with another 3 thousand dollars. I showed her bill to 5 lawyers to make sure that it wasn't just me. Every one of them said that she has a reputation of billing unreasonably and then dumping people when they question the bill. So, I applied to the law society to have the bill mediated by a panel of her peers. Guess what.. she refused to go. Finally we got a good and decent lawyer that has never charged half what she did for twice the work and never would think of charging for her receptionist to leave a message - please! As soon as I say her name now to other lawyers they roll their eyes and say ""I am so sorry that you got caught up with Wendy Lems:. Trust me people. If you are looking to get taken care of and not have your bank account emptied out for no results keep looking. There are so many good and caring lawyers - Wendy Lems is simply not one of them. more

Wendy Lems is the soul reason I have my son in my life today. Her attention to detail makes going through the system so much smoother (this is so important when dealing with the legal system), and her passion for family law shows by how she respects and cares for her clients. In fact my son of 16yrs old (he was 6 yrs old when he met Wendy) will pick up the phone to call Wendy for advice, this is quite a feat for a person to gain the confidence of a teenager, but Wendy has that kind of heart and passion.
