I love Legacy Hunters in East Amherst, NY\r The gounds are beautiful starting with a tree lined driveway.\r The barn manager, Amy, is very knowlegable and great with the horses as well as the boarders, She keeps the place clean and the horses seem very happy.\r My daughter takes riding lessons with Kati and just loves her. The progress she has made with Kati instructing her is amazing. Kati is such a pleasure, always cheerful. Pros: Great staff, Great riding instructor,Great grounds Cons: can't think of any more

I read Legacy's reviews today and was in shock to see the negative review entered by ""Zahar"" in Nov of 2008.. The facility is beautiful and the horses (each with their own personality) are extremely happy, healthy and receive the utmost in care. Pros: easily the best facility. If you like snobs and an uptight atmosphere, this is the place for you. I visited once, was looked down upon because I didn't meet their standards, apparently. Anyway, is it natural for horses to jump fences or cross their legs and dance? Nope...I bet they have sore muscles and joints at the end of the day. I love Legacy Hunters and My Trainer , Terri is so kind and she knows a lot about horses and riding. The horses are well taken care of and loved. I love a lot of the lesson horses like Nigel, Doodles, Faith, and Buttercup and Penny. I am proud to ride and hang out at LEGACY HUNTER STABLES. \r \r Pros: Nice and warm bathrooms, office, and Lounge. Beautiful entrance! Cons: umm... hard to think of any! more

i've been living in the area for only 3 years and it took me months to find a barn that would take a teenager seriously on the phone. Susie, my trainer, called right back and arranged a trial lesson for the next day. I found myself riding a very sweet and gentle horse and a very responsive trainer. Unlike some places where they try to change your previous instruction, susie just used it as a stepping stool to teaching me more. It's a beautiful facility. The horses are extremely well cared for and the staff is like a second family. I bought my baby Sami from a woman who works there and i couldn't be happier with the treatment both he and i are getting there. I convinced my mom to try lessons and although she's quite a nervous rider, she feels both safe and happy at Legacy. I have been looking a while for a nice place to start riding lessons and after being greatly disappointed by many riding facilities a friend suggested Legacy Hunters. I fell in love immediately! My instructor Terri was great and very patient. I was actually greatly surprised... many facilities advertise certified instructors, but when you actually go to the place and meet them, they are not. ""Legacy"" is one of the RARE few who have actual certified and knowledgeable instructors. They also do not hold you back as many (as I have discovered) often do. I was very pleased and happy with the lesson horses as well. They have a GREAT variety of horses for your skill level and I am pleased that the instructors work with the horses AS WELL AS the students. Believe me, I have looked at a bunch of stables where their only concern is how the HORSE is or some ignore the horse and just focus on the person (which is ok, but you limit the horse). I simply LOVE this place and if you are looking for a place to ride, I hope you love it as well! more

I have been to many barns in the area and none compare to Legacy Hunters. It is a perfect location, right off Transit Road and the lesson horses and people there are amazing. First, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Amy, the manager was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and takes GREAT care of the horses...and the rest of the staff knows the horses very well and were more than willing to help me, especially Amanda. The lesson horses were wonderful and they have a real variety for the rider to use, from beginner horses to advanced. I especially like the choice I had with trainers, being as they have three to choose from and seeing as I have tried them all (I like to see who I best fit with) I felt they were all knowledgable and I am confident that I would progress with any of them. They give the rider great opportunities to progress in whatever discipline they choose and the trainers take their students to numerous shows. (If the student wishes to show)\r \r The facilities are wonderful and they provide an indoor and outdoor ring for you to ride in, or you could also ride in their spacious fields. But the one thing that stood out about Legacy Hunters is how happy and well cared for the horses were. They are all accommodated according to the weather and no other barn in the area is as good about having the horses get turned out as Legacy...and considering how nice this barn is, their prices for lessons are more than fair and I feel I am getting my moneys worth. I started riding again after a number of years and fell in love with ""my"" lesson horse! The first thing I noticed at this barn was the horses were very well tended and have great personalities. They are great for beginners as well as experienced riders for both dressage and jumping. I have been riding there for almost a year and have started leasing a horse. My dressage instructor - Suzi - has taught me so much about being connected to the horse and I have learned more than ever. I will be showing this season (can't wait!) and, yes, it is inevitiable - I will own my own horse soon! I will board at Legacy - the people are friendly, the horses relaxed and happy, and the setting is simply idyllic. I always loved horses ,I was in my fourties when I found legacy hunters on the web. Feeling a little foolish wanting to take lessons at my age,I dragged my youngest son along for encouragement . Happy to say I started lessons the following week,fell in love with my school horse ben and even as an amatuer then I knew I had found a gem in the rough, that being my intsuctor Pattie Hill. She was from the beginning patient supportive,encouraging. I learned so much from her in a short time.forever grateful!!!!!
