Lavon Self Storage

When I was shopping around for a storage room, I visited this place. I found it to be clean, well lit and the managers were very pleasant and helpful. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a large variety of sizes. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and when I am ready to rent, I will be coming back to Lavon Self Storage. more

I find these reviews very hard to believe. First off, I am a person of color who rented a storage space at Lavon Storage during the whole time that Ralph managed the storage company. He was nothing but kind and courteous to me. Second, yes there were problems with leaks there. I had a storage space in one of the hallways and had to move my things from my original locker to another one. Ralph helped me personally in moving my things and that took about two hours. Third and finally, I remember the day a grenade was found there because I tried to go to my storage locker on the evening the county was out there taking care of the problem.As far as Ralph goes, he was alright in my book. He did his job and if he is a racist then he fooled me! I couldn't tell you what the place is like now because when Ralph left they replaced him with a couple that in fact were never available and their big dog was really intimidating. The management is terrible. I have been a long term tenant and the place has gone down hill starting with the last manager Ralph Arnett. He is a rude, racist who liked to intimidate the clients. The facility now claims to be closed Sat, Sun, and Mon, but Tues thru Friday it is difficult to find anyone on the property to pay your rent or for any other matter. I had a leak in my unit and Ralph could have cared less. They were running a secondary business out of the office and focused on selling flamingos instead of the storage business. Ralph was finally fired and forced to move off the property and you would think that the owner would have learned from the past mistakes, but the property just gets nastier and nastier. Concrete is broken, units leak and the property is dirty. I wrote this review after Mr. Arnett posted online that he found a bomb on Lavon right before he was fired, whicih is a lie, but that is all he ever did was lie. The property is filthy and my unit leaked the whole time. Told the manager Ralph who could have cared less. The office is never open and you can never find the manager during so called office hours. There are too many other storages in Wylie to put up with this. I found a great facility right next door to them called Action Self Storage that is clean and well maintained and has an onsite mangager that is actually onsite. more
