1st problem: I called Laurel Ridge seeking help for pain med addiction and withdraw. Upon getting an automated message I left my contact info and asking to be contacted immediately, I was going through a very severe withdraw and was suicidal. I never received a call, instead I got a box in the mail a week later. It contained a cheesy calendar, a letter saying thanks for you interest in LR, and as one final FU a cellophane wrapped packet of 100 ct cardboard info sheets; they didn't even bother to unwrap them. It was like saying ""HERE! Here's you're effing info, quit calling.""
2nd complaint. After that experience I decided I was better off abusing the meds, at least I wouldn't be in such physical agony and in danger of killing myself. A few weeks passed and I ended up in the same situation. This time I just went over there. After spending a few days at LR, the ONLY THING that happened was a group session in which we played a ****ing kid's game. A kid's game, no therapy play, just a kid's game. How is that supposed to help someone who is dealing with drug addiction or depression?? On top of that they never addressed nor treated me for the physical withdraws I was dealing with. I could have seized and died.
If you are in need of help, seek help elsewhere. This is nothing more than a warehousing unit. Maybe a step up from the state hospital.
