Laura Ouellette Salon

Desperate for a cut and color, and visiting New Haven, I citysearched a hair salon and found this salon which boasted of good color and looked really cute. I was having coffee and wireless internet at Koffee Two, and I walked on over (longer walk than I thought! but worth it). I love my hair cut. The stylist refreshed my layers and listened to me when I described what I did not want. I live in NYC, and you can't find a good stylist in a relaxed atmosphere who will listen AND give you what you want. We dug around for pictures, and it was perfect. Just what I needed. And my color is great. They use some great system with color tubes. I am totally considering becoming loyal and taking the train up for future haircuts. :) more

I was referred to the salon by someone I met with cute hair. The salon is very quiet and allows for personal attention. It's not like those big salons where your hairstylist is chatting with other people and getting distracted and not really listening to what you want (which is what happened to me at Soho Hair Group). What I liked about my hairstylist Meredith was that she really thinks about what hairstyle will look good on you and what will work for your hair type/texture. She gave me a great cut! Also, whereas most stylists damage your hair during styling with tons of intense blow-drying and flat ironing to get you out of there as soon as possible, Meredith is concerned about keeping your hair healthy, and she styled my hair without damaging it. I highly recommend this salon, and I'm pretty hard to please. more

I stopped by Laura salon during my trip to New Haven, because of the reviews I read. I was amazed that she was young and a very good stylish. First, she gave her opinion about the hair style you should get, followed by a nice clean and neat cut. Some salons just wash the customer hair briefly, but Laura did wash your hair very well and clean. The customer service is very good as well. You will love it here! Love it here. Color and cut are perfect and I leave happy every time. The atmosphere is relaxed. The decor is hip and fun (yet I, as a 36-year-old minivan-driving mother of three don't feel uncomfortable there). This is the hippest salon in new haven. The atmosphere is great. You can tell that everyone who works there is enjoying themselves. Also, from what i saw their work is really high quality.
