Modesto Guitar Lessons 5/1/2009

Randall Padilla who teaches at Langlois is the best. No other instructor that I have met or heard of can play as well as he plays or is as knowledgeable as he is (GIT).\r \r I take lessons from him privately and have been playing for over 34 years. I can tell you that I learned more about music in the first 3 lessons than I have the entire time I have played.\r \r I took lessons from Gottschalks but was receiving no material to work on during the week and was learning nothing about music and why it works.\r \r Padilla's lessons are 5 star, don't waste your time/money anywhere else. more

Modesto's Top Guitar Teacher / Instructor 1/2/2009

My teenage son has taken lessons at both Gottschalks and Skips in the past few years under both of their best guitar instructors. We figured that in the past few years that we have spent at least a combined $3,800 - $4,000 on guitar lessons.\r My son has just recently started to take lessons from Randall Padilla-Modesto Advanced Guitar Instruction, and who also teaches at Langlois Music. We have spent only $200 to date (6 lessons) and already his improvement is clearly noticeable. He practices a lot more now and is a lot more enthused.\r For the entire past few years, the other teachers have provided very little if any written lesson material, and if they did it was always handwritten. Padilla's lessons are loaded with text, real notation, music theory, practice tips. My son says his lessons look exactly like what the Pros put out, so I'm happy that he's excited about music once again.\r I'm just excited to know that I am getting what I paid for! more

Good Selection 12/25/2008

There is a vast selection of pianos and other instruments to choose from, plus a million different options for music books. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The place also provides many different lessons ranging from piano to violin to vocal. Also, because they have so much stuff, it's a really great source to buy a gift for someone who's passion is music. more

Guitar Lessons Modesto - Randall Padilla 12/7/2008

Randall Padilla is by far the best guitar instructor in the Central Valley. NO other teacher that I've ever had or know of provides such professionally printed lessons (5-7 pages usually!) with TAB/Standard notation, you learn theory for free. Also, he actually teaches MUSIC- I've been playing for 16 years now and I learned more in the first 2 months under his instruction than I did the entire time that I've played! I can play over anything now and solo confidently. No other teacher in the Central Valley even comes close to him. He's a University level teacher- you will definitely get what you paid for! Plus, he's a World renown Professional player. more

We purchased several violins and alot of music from this store. They have had a good selection of musical instruments and are a great resource of teachers and musicians in the local area. Very helpful. more

  • Family owned and operated, spanning four generations and over 100 years of tradition. Paschal was the first Langlois piano tuner. Xion, the son of Paschal Langlois, was a lifelong piano tuner in the Modesto, California area until the time of his death in 1982 at age 84. Edmond J. Langlois, the son of Xion and grandson of Paschal opened his piano shop in 1967 in a small rented garage in Modesto. Through hard work, Edmond built a thriving piano tuning and repair business, growing and expanding to various locations in Modesto. Edmond with the help of his two sons, Gregory and Phillip, opened a retail outlet for new and used pianos in 1981 to compliment the existing piano tuning and repair business. In 1983 the sheet music department was added and around 1989 the karaoke department was added to the lineup of musical products. After a short illness in August 1993, Edmond died, leaving the daily operations and management of the company to his wife Audry and son Phillip. On May 16, 1996, Langlois Music Company was completely destroyed by fire, including all the pianos, sheet music and karaoke products. Although a difficult task to rebuild, Langlois Music Company reopened in their present location within a year of the fire and are operating in full swing with a complete line of pianos and musical equipment..
