Just what I was looking for! 12/23/2010

This venue was just what we were looking for! Their staff was helpful, polite, and worked with us even though I was a stressed out bride. I couldn't believe the number of compliments I got on the food and the room that we chose. From the tour with the Sales Director Karen, and meeting with Michael to plan our menu we were blown away by the ease and effortlesness of planning our event! I We couldn't recommend the Landmark enough! more

A Perfect Wedding! 12/17/2010

My Husband and I had our reception in the Temple Theater earlier this year. From the first day of planning with the event coordinator everything went perfectly. The location was beautiful and the food was delicious! The prime rib was cooked to perfection, medium-rare just like we requested. They even saved some of the hour' devours that were served while we were having pictures so we could enjoy them as well. The staff was very helpful, I had friends show up early to drop off some last minute items off the morning of the wedding and even though they were busy with another event they made sure the items would be in their place by the time the reception began. They even made great recommendations for a florist and bakery for our cake both which were wonderful and easily coordinated with the Landmark. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. We received so many complements from our friends and family as to how nice the reception was. We would definitely use them again in the future or recommend them to friends, family, and strangers. A Perfect Day 12/14/2010

We had our wedding reception at the Landmark in March. It was wonderful! The food was awesome, the location was beautiful and the staff were so helpful to us and our guests. They really worked for us and made sure nothing went wrong on our big day. Great place for a wedding or any event. more

aweful place don't waste your money here 6/28/2010

i attended my niece's reception here. It was just aweful! the party was on the 4th floor, but the elevator wasn't working. One of the staff was VERY RUDE!!! The food was brought out late, service was lousy! Champagne was not served to all the tables. Food was not replenished without complaints from staff...staff were bitching at guests. The place had a odor, I think from the building being so old. And everything else in the building including furniture is old. Only two ladies toilet for several halls to share! THIS PLACE WAS THE DEFINITION OF GHETTO!!! And the service was below poor! It was just aweful. We kept having to tell the staff of things that needed done! The food was aweful! The prime rib was almost raw! Guest were seated and had to wait almost 2 hrs for the food, and no beverage or even water was even offered to the guest...we had to ask the staff to bring water! I would never attend an event here again! more

TERRIBLE THEFTS 5/16/2010

HAD A PROBLEM SINCE THE BEGINNING WITH THE OWNER. THE DAY OF THE WEDDING-DURING THE CERAMONY A TOTAL OF 600.00 WAS STOLEN FROM THE ENTIRE DRESSING ROOM OF WOMANS PURSES. THE MANAGER MICHAEL WAS EXTREMELY RUDE WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT TO HIS ATTENTION. INSTANTLY GETTING DEFENSIVE THAT IT WAS NOT HIS STAFF AND HAD TO BE ONE OF OUR RELATIVES THAT DID IT. IT WAS OPEN AND SHUT NO INCIDENT REPORT MADE- JUST PLAIN ''NOT HIS RESPONSIBILITY-OH WELL''. I WOULD DEFINATELY NNNOOOOTTTT! BY ANY MEANS RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO BE ANYBODY'S MEMORY PLACE. I SAW THE REVEIWS-DIDNT THINK IT WOULD HAPPEN TO ME-GUESS I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. AND IT WILL BE A MEMORY OF DEVASTATION & EMBARASSMENT FOR A LIFETIME. you people compaining could have fixed your problem 12/5/2009

im getting married in the roof top garden ballroom i see people complaining about the food? should have done a food tasting and no paid unless you like it.... make them change wording in the contract...i did... also set up a appointment 1-2 days before the wedding to make them shampoo the carpet..they will also its your job to make the room look good not theres...and someone said about the dj and not getting theres is a 500 dollar fee... wrong... just put all your tunes on a ipod have a friend push play and..tada.. free no dj or fees there are ways to get around everything and ways to make your day the best even in the not so great places you just need to think and ask alot of questions... your vender is working for you that day so you can come up with rules and guidelines too just be smart and you wedding day will be great the landmark is a great place to make dreams come true more

Historial Building 9/11/2009

This building is old and so is this town. I think my wedding was pretty good. They worked with me gave me a little extra and my guest were treated fair. I had a vintage wedding so the look of my room was right on time. So if you want a "PRINCESS DI" wedding you might want to go to Scotland or somewhere 2009 or 2010ish. Cause the Landmark is a "HISTORIAL BUILDING and some things you can not change. more

how depressing 10/4/2008

I went to a reception here and I was very disappointed. The facility has the potential to be beautiful, but instead it is ugly and outdated and smells really old. looks like they started to fix it because the garden room bathroom for women looked nice. Everything feels cheap. It is not an elegant feeling at all. I am having a wedding and reception but have found other places much more beautiful and cost effective. The staff doesn't appear to be very happy and the manager is a little cranky. more

I went to my friends reception here and I was totally disappointed. The building could be beautiful but it is old and outdated and stinks. The staff isn't very happy and the manager is weird. I am planning my own wedding and I would not waste my money at this down-scaled facility. There are so many other beautiful well taken care of facilities that are reasonably priced. Too bad the owners don't care about the building or the staff. You can tell. more

this building could be nice. It looks like they started to dress it up with the Garden room bathroom. But everything else is old, outdated and depressing. I went to my friends wedding reception here and had thought of having my reception here, but I would not waste my money here. I think the owner or owners are cheap so if you want a place that is not high class than it's ok. There are other much more beautiful facilities with comparable pricing. more

The view from the Roof Garden Ballroom was lovely. The building however, is old, carpet old and worn, ancient elevators that return to the same floor over and over again (if someone pushes the button while you're en route), and the food was cafeteria grade. You must use their D.J. or you will be charged a $500. fee for using your own. The D.J. while personable got the wedding march song wrong, and had local radio interference noise over-riding the bride and groom's toasts. If he is their in house D.J.- he should have that figured out by now. You can have your own live music but must pay a $500 fee to do so. I cannot recommend. more

Wedding Nightmare 9/21/2007

I would not recommend this venue to anyone! My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Tacoma Landmark and Convention Center. During our wedding reception, one of their staff stole a total of three (3) cell phones from our guest and they stole a wallet out of a purse. This incident pulled my husband away from our wedding reception for over an hour, I was in tears, embarrassed and humiliated. We spent over $7,000 and the company is refusing to take responsibility for their negligence of hiring criminals. I have tried to resolve the issue with the owner and he is unresponsive, uncooperative and very rude. If you want to enjoy your wedding/reception and have a worry free day, I would not hold my event at the Tacoma Landmark. more

barely average event party reception venue 8/21/2005

Don't get me wrong...this facility can be dressed up, and can also serve it's purpose, but I believe compared to other venues in the local area, it is barely average. they have the ability to have multiple functions going on at once, which becomes a problem because there is really only one elevator, and it has to be operated by someone who knows how to use it. They try and make you use their DJ's, which can be hit or very bad miss. The staff and general managers are very good and pleasant to work with, which is a good thing since the facility is wanting a good face lift. more
