I had a roommate who skipped out on rent, broke in and stole furniture, attempted to assault me and one of her friends killed my pet gecko. I filed a police report and they told me they could do absolutely nothing! I needed to be out of my lease because she had keys to my place and I felt unsafe and couldn't afford to buy all new furniture. I tried going through my apartment office and they wanted to charge me $1600 before actually getting it professionally cleaned and after they claimed there were ""statutory damages"". I was shocked since they hadn't even fixed my a/c for the first two months, the plumbing was consistently faulty, and there had been an assault outside my apartment by some other tenants! Arizona Tenants Advocates helped me save money, save my credit and help me stand up for my rights as a tenant! Honestly, it all ran so smoothly and I was out so fast too. Thanks ATA!!! I broke my lease legally through ATA and they still won the case because |I couldnt afford an attorney and they said I was in default because I missed court but the never sent me a court paper to my new address.... they so suck....I was innocent... So I am out $5000 plus the $550 I paid for the Arizona Tenets Advocates...Which was a waste of money because they said my case would never go to court... Screw them too they are a waste of money and I could of gotton sued all on my own... I did everything legally and still I got screwed I wish people wouldnt use them at all....
