Horrible older lady working in there (Mean, rude and BITTER)! Do not go there. She was telling me things that didn't make sense (And she is not on medication that I could tell, just a nut job or very bitter in life). She was putting me down as soon as I arrived (And I was so polite), while another man came in with a broken glass pendant shade. This BITTER woman started on him with her negative, mean and odd behavior! He was shocked! I stepped in to ease the situation after she very meanly and negatively told him she doesn't carry what he needs and he'll never, ever find it. I told him I saw that exact glass pendant shade at Lowes hardware store and he thanked me. I suggested he take a photo of his other matching pendants (A photo of the complete set), and take it with him to Lowes. He said that was a really great idea and thanked me and left a little bit happier after encountering this bitter woman. The bitter sales lady at Lampshade Gallery went off on me for solving this mans broken pendant problem, and she blew up like you wouldn't believe! I was shocked and wish I had my iPhone video going, so I could put it on YouTube for the world to witness. If you go in there, I suggest you record your experience with your Smart phone video from the moment you arrive (Seriously!))! I immediately went from being polite to firm with her and I put her in her place by telling her I don't appreciate the way she has been speaking to me! I raised my voice to her levels and hers were always rude, loud and inappropriate since the moment I first encountered her. I told her to get her light bulbs out of my lamp because I am going to leave! Further, I told her firmly ""You are mean!"" and I took my lamp and headed for the door. On my way out, I shouted back over my shoulder that I would not recommend any of my clients to her or this store! Seriously, she needs to go to hell! Don't shop there and don't recommend this place to anyone. You can get everything you need for your lamps on the internet! : ) more

Don't Go!! I've never been treated so rudely or impatiently by the woman who is Mgr or owns it, and I drove MILES to get there since there aren't a lot of lampshade places in the city. Thats all I can say, she acted like she didn't want me there and when you ask for help? Wow, be careful, she doesn't want to help, just rudely wants your money. more

I only wish you could see a photo of my Vintage 1970's Brass Ginger Jar Lamp with it's new beautiful black shade from Lampshade Gallery! After researching the web for a custom style lampshade store, I came upon this establishment. Wow, some people are tough reviewers for sure and obviously not very informed as to what it takes to properly ""fit"" a shade to a lamp. I was a bit concerned when I read the reviews, but I found Lynda nothing but professional and helpful with my selection. I will definitely return with my interior design clients and yes, their lamps! more

I attended this store today in search 5/11/2012

I attended this store today in search of lamp shades for antique lamps I repair. When I got in the door I rec'd a call from a family member about the condition of my sick husband. I at the most was on the phone for 15 seconds, when the clerk approached me and said can I help you. I motioned to her that I was trying to get off the phone to speak to her. But her reply to me was I don't have time for you. She walked to the back room and never returned. I live in the area and only shop local stores for the support of our community. But since this happened I will rethink that. more

I agree with other reviewers. When I 1/17/2012

I agree with other reviewers. When I entered the store, everything in our short conversation conveyed 'I am really not interested in you as a customer. Please leave my store!' I was clothed professionally with rose tones and spoke in gentle tones. I am stunned at what warranted such treatment. Anyway, I stayed to peruse their out of date selection of quite boring lampshades out of courtesy anyway. more

Wow...how do some people stay in business 8/11/2011

Called up and spoke to Linda...extremely rude and not very helpful. Read some reviews after the fact and not surprised by the negative comments on here. How do these kind of people actually stay in business? In this day and age of the internet and social media she needs to change her business plan! more

Excellent lampshades, lamp repair, and customer service! 3/14/2010

Lampshade Gallery is the best place in town to find lamp restoration and unique lampshades/finials (particularly for an antique lamp). They have an incredible selection of merchandise, and the expertise to help you find the perfect compliment to your lamp (the process works better if you bring your lamp with you when choosing the shade). I disagree with previous comments about their service. Their employees are extremely knowledgable, friendly, and honest. They are more than willing to spend whatever time is necessary to help you find the right shade. They are also skilled at lamp repair and restoration. They have been able to transform junky eBay finds into beautiful heirloom pieces for me. If you are looking for a new lampshade or lamp restoration, this is the place to go! Pros: Unbeatable selection and fantastic service more

Poor customer service on the phone 9/12/2009

I have a goose neck lamp that needed a new shade. I have been shopping around for awhile. I was referred to The Lampshade Gallery by another lamp store in Denver. I don't live in the immediate area so, my brother was kind enough to get the shade for me. He placed the call after the shop opened today on Saturday 9/12/09. Sure enough before he had even described my lamp, the proprietress said, ""We don't have it."" How the hell does she know and how the hell does that store stay in business? She said my lamp is a foreign make and I was better off buying another lamp. He informed her that I like this particular lamp. She retorted, ""Well, I'm sure she does!"" He can tell you this... that call was over in a few minutes.\r He had emailed to tell me what had been said. So, when I read it, I knew needed to call them to say what I thought of their customer service. I was direct & tactful & got my point across that I thought that being not being very helpful, rude & short is not a good way to conduct business and/or stay in business, especially in this economy! Of course, being a customized lamp shade store may be at their advantage.\r By the way, my brother was able to tinker with another shade I had brought down & he was able to set the shade on the lamp.\r \r \r \r Pros: Customized, unique lampshades Cons: Not helpful, disinterested, rude & short more

Bad customer service, avoid at all costs 8/9/2008

I came in with a small table lamp that I was trying to find a small bell shade for. Rather than try to help me, the clerk told me (rather rudely, in my opinion) that I should never buy that style of lamp anymore, since ""they don't make shades for these anymore."" She said she had only one shade in stock that would work with it, a tiny one that cost $40. I was so turned off by the service I received and the steep price that I left empty-handed. \r \r I would not recommend this business, because I feel their service is rather rude and their merchandise is overpriced for what it is. And despite the fact that they no longer make shades for this lamp, I found a compatible one at Target for $15. Cons: rude service, steep prices, extremely limited parking more

Exceptional service and excellent selection 11/12/2006

I took in my antique lamps and they were able to find the perfect shade that echoed the original in style and most importantly, quality. I also have a 1920's floor lamp that now has the perfect shade and casts the most beautiful light. They do a great job of finding just the right shape and size and their selection goes beyond the common selection at most stores. I appreciate their help every time I flip the switch! more
