always good, but be prepared for a line to get a table at peak times. be sure to try the pass around okra. everything comes in very large portions so go hungry

Great food, great fun atmosphere 4/14/2006

Lambert's is one of those places that you "have" to go to when visiting this area of South Alabama. I've been in the peak season as well as the off season, and it is a lot nicer in the off season. Meaning, a lot less crowded and faster service. I've never waited longer than an hour for a table, and that doesn't seem like an unreasonable wait to me. (This was during peak tourist season, at dinner). They do actually "throw" the rolls, but they make it easy to catch them! The food is good Southern cooking, and they give you a ton of it. They don't accept credit cards, though, so make sure to bring cash or check with you. more

Home of the throwed rolls 4/6/2006

This is a great place to eat if you can actually get in. The line sometimes can be a 4 hour wait, especially during the tourist months. They are famous for their thrown rolls. They have these really good yeast rolls and they toss them to you from far away sometimes and you have to catch them. It's kind of cool if you can actually catch them. They're not extremely high, but they food is always worth it. The wait for a table is why I don't go here very often. The food is great, but, I am not too glad about standing outside in the sun during the summer for hours waiting on the line to move to get in. more

Home Of The Thrown Rolls 4/5/2006

If you like some good ole' southern food then Lambert's Cafe is definately the place to get it. This place is so good and it is great fun! The food is terrific as well as the service. The really know what southern hospitality is! The best part is that they throw the rolls to you....and the rolls are soooo good!! more
