I Prefer the Central or Downtown Library Location due to it being Five times as large and having everything...but you work with what you have and for me this is the closest branch to my home. There is always plenty of parking, partly due to it sharing a lot with a Church.
When this location was renovated a few years back and the name changed from the Southwest Branch to the Lake Arlington Branch, they really modified this branch to be more "kid" friendly. They condensed the Reference Book Section and really expanded the Kid Section. The selection of Adult Fiction Reading material is rather puny.
What is rather fantastic, is that you can visit the Virtual Library Online and request any book that you would like to check out. If the library doesnt have it, they will have it shipped from one of the other branch locations and call your house when it is ready to be picked up. Again since the selection of reading material is lacking at this location, I use this feature quite often. I will usually request 10-15 books at one time. As long as they are available they are usually shipped and ready to be picked up within 1-2 days. Did I mention the best part....this is a completely FREE Service. All you need is a Library Card!
In Summary, this Particular Branch of the Arlington Public Library is best Suited for Little Kids or those wanting to use the Internet. I simply use it as a place to pick up books that I have checked out from the comfort of my own home!
