This is such an amazing garden and it is right in Harford County. A wonderful place to go...You could get lost walking around. The bushes and shrubs are shaped in the coolest designs and characters. I can't imagine being the gardener her, must be like painting the Golden Gate bridge..once you think you are done, you start all over again. more

Coolest Garden to Visit 8/15/2005

This is a really nice place to visit during the summer. Its a huge topiary garden that has been preserved in the same manner for a very long time. THey have bushes shaped liked Buddha as well as tons of other cool shapes and animals. In addition they have a water creek flowing through one of the gardens. The place is extremely beautiful and a great place to take a girl. more

Lovely Grounds, Lovely house 8/15/2005

Ladew Gardens were the vision of one eccentric man during the victorian era. Thanks to his generousity, the public can now view the topiary gardens and the house. Talk a nature walk or have a picnic (these can be obtained from the onsite cafe). There is a nice gift store with all things gardening available. Changes with the season and special events are listed on the website. Beautfiul day outside? Go visit this east coast gem ! Admission is free for those that belong to the garden society and nominal for others. more

Gorgeous gardens, relaxing day trip 7/29/2005

The Ladew Topiary Gardens comprise acres of manicured gardens surrounding a beautiful, well-maintained main house. The gardens range from rolling lawns surrounded by swan topiaries to wilder hilly woods with hidden benches for resting. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon, and not too expensive. They have a discount coupon on their web site! more
