Great Food, Appalling Owner 10/22/2008

i have been going to this restaurant for years, since it was at its previous location. the food is usually extraordinary, but you certainly pay for it. and the guy who owns it is one of the most self-important smarmy creeps that you will ever encounter. but his calamari is the best i have ever had and the caprese salad tastes like it was flown over from Italy. the dover sole is also fantastic, including the tableside preparation. i would not hesitate to give this place 5 stars if the owner was not so totally objectionable. my friends have a policy that they will only go if someone else is paying because they refuse to give him a dime. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!!! 1/2/2003

Best Italian restaurant in the City! The food, wines, music, ambience and service are SUPERB! The wait staff is VERY FRIENDLY! This restaurant has everything you could possible want in a romantic Italian setting. If Vito doesn't have your favorite dish on the menu, let him know and he will actually make arrangements to have it made especially for you!!! (Call ahead with your reservation!) If you want someplace really, really special, this is absolutely the place to dine! You are made to feel as if you are an intimate family member. You can't help but to really enjoy yourself to the fullest! more
