La Petite Academy

I went to this La Petite when I was a child and I'm proud to say my children are now going there. They must be pretty good to still be in business after 30 years. They have curriculum and lesson plans from the infant class to the school age class and my children are always learning something new. The teachers and Director are wonderful. I have toured other childcare centers in Smyrna and none of them come close to being as great as La Petite. more

LaPetite in Smyrna is wonderful We have had our child enrolled for over 3yrs now. Sure there are times we have had to question certain procedures or give specific instruction, but we are the parents and pay close attention to what is going on and voice our opinion as needed. We have not once had any problems with a teacher mistreating our child or have seen any other child being mistreated. We have visited the center during all hours of the day and haven't seen any of the said negativity that is mentioned in previous reviews. Trust us, if we even thought for the slightest moment that our child is in any danger we would go elsewhere and see to it that the center is closed until changes are made. Our child has learned so much while attending LaPetite Academy. The curriculum really doesn't begin until preschool age but as the child develops, the teachers are there guiding your child through their most important development stages. Katy P. was fired from La Petite for mishandling a child. I worked at La Petite with her and still remember all the drama, lies, and turmoil she caused. My children attended there also and I only have wonderful things to say about them. La Petite does not put up with staff who can't follow the rules and put children at risk. I really enjoyed the years I worked there and my children still talk about their "apple school" days with great fondness. I agree with DM's review below, don't believe everything you hear or read, check it out for yourself. It's the cleanest preschool I have ever been in and they do a great job! more

I have been in this preschool at all different times of day and have NEVER heard or seen anything negative going on at La Petite. This school is GREAT!!! They have a hard job but you would never know it by their attitudes and professionalism. I highly recommend this La Petite Academy. Good job! more

La Petite in Smyrna is by far the best preschool in all of Rutherford Co. The curriculum is wonderful, the teachers are excellent, and the Director cares about each and every one of the kids and her staff. Check them out for yourself, you'll be very very pleased with service and extra special touches this preschool has. more

My two children both attended La Petite for almost five years. During that time, they were well cared for at all times. Staff members are very friendly and more than willing to accomodate parents whatever their needs may be. No one will ever care for a child as a parent normally would but I was more than pleased to leave my children in the care of the La Petite staff. Never have I heard of any inappropriate behavior on the part of the staff or wrong doings to any of the children. more

I cannot believe some of the reviews below. I have never seen anything close to resembling neglect or unsatisfactory behaviors from teachers there. My daughter has gone to this center for over a year and she has learned so much. The teachers have been so wonderful with her and I have nothing but praise for them. I am sure they get frustrated with the kids just as anyone would who is watching 10 kids every day, but I trust them with my child and I take her there knowing everyday she will be taken are of. more

First off let me tell you that I was in the childcare business for 8 years and know what is and isn't supposed to be going on in a childcare setting. La Petite FAR exceeds state standards and does an excellent job training staff and treating children and families with love and respect. The negative articles below could be from a competitor, ex-employee who was fired for not meeting the standards that La Petite Academy expects, or an ex-parent who's child was terminated for behavioral issues or for not paying tuition. Like I said, I was in childcare so I know those people are exactly the one's who will make up lies. I don't believe the tylenol, duct tape, or any other issue one little bit because if that had happened there would be something in their DHS file (which is public knowledge) that reflects that. The staff is very nice at this facility, to your face. My child comes home telling of children who have had their mouth duct taped because they were screaming and children being left outside because no one even knew they were missing. \r \r Once, while sitting in my car waiting for my wife to come out, two young ladies employed there were standing outside talking about their partying, alcohol and drugs. I did not find any of this amusing. We have since removed our child from this daycare and are satisfied with the replacement. Do not take your children here, if you can help it. more

This La Petite is amazing! They make me and my children feel like family and my kids have learned so much! Also, I have toured other so called preschools in the Smyrna area and they are all filthy except for La Petite. My house is clean and I expect my kids preschool to be clean and La Petite delivers that and so much more. If I have any concerns the director and teacher take care of it quickly. La Petite is a God send to us! more

I think this La Petite is the best by far in Middle Tennessee. They have a fabulous staff that is more than willing to go the extra mile for anyone. They treat the kids respectfully and with so much love! I would recommend this daycare to anyone! Even the management staff does whatever it takes to make the children and parents happy and they know each parent and child by name! more

My Son has been enrolled in this location for several months and since being enrolled he has kept a diaper rash. It will clear up over the weekends when he is home with us but Monday afternoon it is back. Finally after the 3rd time of bringing him home and changing his diaper to find dried feces on him I decided that was enough. They do have some very nice ladies that work there but the ones that my son had to deal with were rough on him, yanking him by the arms to get him away from me when I was dropping him off, and didn't care for him as well as I felt they should have. All in all I had a bad experience with this facility and would not recommend it to anyone. more
