Best

Well, you came to San Antonio for the River Walk, and nothing tops off a visit like an actual local restaurant that has some ambiance, local flavor, and a long history of serving ...

Worst

How sad that this restaurant that used to be so good is now average at best. I would not waste my time going there anymore. the food is made for someone who no longer has a palate...

Like eating DOGFOOD 5/31/2011

Worst restaurant meal in my life. Cabernet wine was SOUR, my husband's Heineken beer was room temperature. When we asked if we could get something else, the waitress cried SHE was going to have to pay for it if we sent it back. Our t-bone steaks ($25 ish each) arrived and we would not eat them. They were old, semi- warm, well done, (we ordered medium rare) and the thinest tee bones I have ever seen. We wraped them up for our dog, and went to dinner somewhere else. Our bill was expensive!!! + gave waitress a 30.00 tip because we figured out fast that management treats the employees like garbage. DO NOT GO!!!!! I'm contacting the heath department next \r \r more

WORST FOOD/ SERVICE EVER!!!! 8/21/2010

Horrible food, horrible service, horrible drinks. I understand people being slammed, but this was not the case and waiting 55 minutes for cold food does not make sense. Please read the reviews and I promise you, its bad. Go somewhere else, you'll regret the money and time you spend at this poor excuse for a restaurant. more

Worth the Wait 1/23/2010

Well, you came to San Antonio for the River Walk, and nothing tops off a visit like an actual local restaurant that has some ambiance, local flavor, and a long history of serving great meals along side the River. Sit and enjoy a relaxing meal, watch pedestrians and River Boats. Enjoy the menu, but be sure to start off with the fantastic ceviche..... I always do!!\r Oh, and welcome to San Antonio.... I'm glad you're here!! Pros: Ambiance--NOT A CHAIN Cons: too small for the crowds that want to eat there more

SPECTACULAR!!! 1/19/2010

My husband and I came to San Antonio to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and could not imagine a better place to have spent our evening! The ambiance was amazing, the staff were very attentive to our needs and the food......OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I highly recommend this restaurant and will continue to return to enjoy everything it has to offer!! more

Great Food and Ambiance! 10/1/2009

Was visiting San Antonio's Riverwalk and found a great place with art and a great bar! The huge Margarita was a favorite with my husband and I as well as the art along the walls. (especially the guitar!) The fajitas and salsa were incredible, not to mention the ceviche! Definetly will visit again and recommend it anyone visiting the Riverwalk. Pros: Margaritas and Art more

Absolutely the worst food we have ever eaten at any restaurant. 2/25/2009

Lost our reservations (Valentine's evening)so we had to sit inside and couldn't even enjoy the view, tasteless unseasoned food, cold food temperatures, and a very pricey menus. Beef fajitas for one was $18.95. The smell from the restaurant next door was really good. I'll try that next time. Pros: Nice location on the Riverwalk. Cons: Everything else! more

Pick another restaurant! 2/16/2009

Absolute disaster. No record of reservation. Seated us anyway, but at worst table there (5 ft. from hostess stand). Brought $25 gift certificate. We checked terms & exclusions carefully before making Valentine's reservations -- no exclusion for special occasions (several restaurants on the site DID exclude special occasions). Presented certificate before ordered. My husband's dry fajitas were unseasoned. Better fajitas at fast-food places, for 1/4 of price. My pollo poblano was same unseasoned, dry chicken, topped w/few onions & slices of poblano under greasy melted cheese. Bland rice & beans w/both meals. Tasted like straight from can black beans & minute rice w/few canned green peas. Finished horrible meals, exchanged gifts; we're ready for check. Husband goes to bathroom. Waiter comes, hands ME the bill & our gift certificate (he'd taken it w/him when we presented it before ordering) & says that they won't accept it tonight. Politely told him I intended to protest this, as I'd done my research before making reservations. There was nothing to indicate our certificate would not be accepted, & the time to have informed us that it would not be was before we'd ordered & eaten. Manager who'd been busying himself behind waiter stepped in, snatched check from waiter, held it out in front of him & said loudly, ""So you are telling me that you are not going to pay this bill?"" Tables cramped together; everyone turned to look. Told him I was saying I wanted him to honor the gift certificate we'd brought, nothing else. Husband returned; manager turned on his heels & walked off. We sat there, the waiter ignoring us; we had no idea what was going on. Went inside to look for the manager. Waiter then said, ""He's fixing it in the computer."" We returned to table; eventually were presented w/bill minus gift certificate. We were having nice time despite bad table & bad food, but conflict really ruined Valentine's dinner. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Pros: on riverwalk Cons: customer service, food, everything else more

How sad the fall! 8/4/2008

How sad that this restaurant that used to be so good is now average at best. I would not waste my time going there anymore. the food is made for someone who no longer has a palate to taste. I guess the bigger they are the harder they fall! Pros: The outdoor patio is still beautiful. Cons: The food is horrid! more

worst restaurant and worst service on the riverwalk 2/13/2008

i went here and to start off the drinks were awesome........ then the restaurant brought out the wrong food and had the nerve to ask why i wouldn't eat it and why my 3 year old wouldn't eat fish with salsa. as if it is any of their business as to whether my son would eat it. and then the manager's only way to handle the problem was to give us three dollars off our meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not every horrible tasting entree the whole meal lmao. and the food is horrible. i live in san antonio and can name a million better hole in the wall mexican joints that are awesome foodwise and customer servicewise..................... hope you choose a better place then this. we wasted almost a hundred dollars........ oh and another thing the manager had to go to a store down the street to break a hundred and get us our change.. while we sat there waiting. JUST DO NOT GO HERE EVER Pros: on the riverwalk Cons: everything about the restaurant other than the riverwalk locale more

Avoid this dirty rundown place that takes advantage of its location 2/2/2008

One of the worst restaurants I've EVER been to. 1 star for the location only. We had a table for 6 adults and 2 children on 31 Dec 07. Food was poor: pasta was tasteless and stodgy, and a very small bowl for $8, caesar salad was nondescript, soup looked regurgitated, the sandwich was ok. Chef refused to provide a kids' portion of pasta. I went inside after our food was served and was horrified of how dirty it looked, floors, walls, kitchen...and the ladies' restroom was disgustingly dirty with a workman in there painting. I can't believe they had a man in there working during the peak lunchtime rush. It will take a lot more than a coat of paint to save this abysmal place. I'm surprised none of us became sick afterwards. The lemonades were watered down and tasteless, I sent mine back and was still charged for it. The waitress was spaced out and kept forgetting to bring cutlery, drinks etc. At 18% gratuity! There are better places than this on the Riverwalk. We ate later at the Westin Hotel and that was fabulous. more

Do not go there! 4/16/2006

I went to this restaurant with my mother, sister and my two kids. It was a beautiful setting, right on the riverwalk. We waited over 30 minutes for a drink! When the food finally came it was not of a very high standard. My pasta was extremely oily and not hot enough. The main problem was when we finally got the check. I was horrified to find that the total was $122!. As I was looking over the individual items the waiter grabbed my elderly mother's Visa card out of her hand. I then noticed a charge of $11 for a glass of wine which was not what she ordered, and an 18% gratuity! When I queried this the waiter informed me that 'was because we were on the Riverwalk'! Pros: Location, Varied menu Cons: Overpriced, Poor Service, Substandard food more

Awsome!!!! 12/5/2005

Me and my Family went (party of 4) on a weekend. It was very busy outside, inside we were able to sit immediately (due to everybody wanting to sit outside). I had the Carne Asada plate it was the best I have EVER had!!!!! My wife had some pasta with sausage (it was OK). My kids had taquitos. But over all it was a very good experience. Pros: goof food, fast service, location Cons: very busy, long wait for outside more

Horrible!! 11/14/2005

My husband and I went there for our 1st year anniversary. This place is coasting off of their location. The food and service was by far the worst I have ever received anywhere! The waiter was unattentive and never brought requested beverages or tortillas. The steak was chewy and hard to cut and the chips were so stale they would bend instead of break. We waited for 15 minutes for the waiter to bring our check. I guess we should have known better since all the other restaurants on the river walk had 30-min. waits and Paloma had mostly empty tables. Save your money! Go anywhere but here!! Pros: Riverwalk Cons: Food, Service, Atmosphere more
