Pet stores have puppy mill dogs. They will tell you otherwise but unless you see both parents of the puppy when you purchase the dog they are 99.9% usually puppy mill dogs. All those people that have had great dogs from this place, you are few and fair between. Regard yourself as lucky! Buying dogs and cats from pet stores is never a good idea. Buyer beware. The couple of people that have gotten animals from "Troy" have been really sick and not in good health. The reason they got them is because they felt bad for them. Well they got the raw end of that deal becuase not only paying lots of money for the animal, they then had vet bills in the thousands!! Think before you use a pet store. There are rescues and shelters that have better animals than this place. more

Hi, my name is Sally and I have bought two puppies in the past from Lake Country Pets. In fact both were bulldogs that I bought from two different breeders one year apart. If you know anything about bulldogs they say to never buy from a pet store. Well I did and they are perfect. My vet said they are very nice looking bulldogs she can't believe we got them from a pet store. Winston did have to have knee surgery at a year old, but that goes with the breed. Troy (the owner) answered all my questions and concerns I had about the breed. None of his dogs come from puppy mills but from breeders around or in the area. In fact one of my bulldogs came from Oklahoma. He even has breeders in alot of other states. So as for Lemmon Puppy lady, I ask how can a vet tell you a small puppy has bad hips with out ex-rays. She has the same warrenty I had to sign when I bought my puppies. Bring Troy the ex-rays. My bulldog had to have ex-rays for his knee surgery at that time I asked to have his hips done too. 300 dollars later we found out his hips are great. But our vet can't tell by just feeling, only ex-rays can. I have lots of family and friends that won't buy from anybody but Lake Country Pets. If he doesn't have the breed you are looking for just ask him. He probably knows somebody that does. Puppies are like people, things can happen as a puppy matures that no one expected to happen. It is a living, breathing creature. Hopefully they can go though life with no issues. Lake Country Pets gets a 5 star from me. Also where else can you buy puppies at his price? He is very very reasonable. Also I just want to say it is a neighborhood pet store so all the kids in the area stop by to play and talk to the puppies, so at any given time there are puppies and kids running around. It is hard to keep the floors clean at all time, but I don't think his store is dirty. Carpet stains easily with all the people in and out and I dont think people wipe their feet before entering. we had pretty much the same experience as k9crzy. our puppy also has bad knees. I wish I would have thought about going back after the business. I don't think there prices are out of line, there products are pretty much what everyone else has. The store was dirty (carpet) and the employee was much more interested in talking about his dog then helping with ours. After I read the review posted by roastbeef I googled and binged Lake Country Pets. It might be wise for you to do the same before purchasing any kind of animal from this store more

I had three friends get puppies from here and I got a puppy from Lake Country Pets about 8 months ago. She is the best puppy I have ever gotten!! Never once had any of my friends or my puppy have had health issues and was very easy to train! I highly reccomend them! Very helpful staff and very reasonably priced products! more

A friend and I purchased two puppies from Lake Country Pets on the same day. We were assured by Mr. Anderson that they did not come from a puppy mill and that they were completely healthy. We noticed the smallest of the 3 puppies seemed to be having trouble with his hind legs. When asked Mr. Anderson said that it was nothing for small dogs, that ours were fine. We both took the puppies to the vet within 7 days of purchasing. Puppy #1 had tape worms, Guardia, Yeast infection in his ears and really bad knees. Puppy #2 had ear mites, extremely bad hips and knees. Both my friend and I have other dogs at home which we then had to treat at great expense. We requested a $250.00 refund from Mr. Anderson/Lake Country Pets. He offered $150.00 in cash and $150.00 in grooming. We rejected his offer of grooming and asked for $250.00. As of todays date Mr. Anderson has not complied with our request. We have filed complaints with the BBB, Consumer Protection and SPCA. Mr. Anderson has ingored all efforts by the BBB to resolve this issue. I've taken in stray's, rescue and human societly dogs all clear of any mites, worms etc. Yet a puppy from a pet store not only puts me back $499.00 plus food, but another $300.00 in vet bills within the 1st week. Please do not buy a puppy from this establishment. For the record I advised Mr. Anderson not to sell the remaining puppy, he wasn't there one week later and in speaking with the breeders daughter he wasn't returned. So Mr. Anderson sold this puppy knowing there was genetic issues with their knees and hips. That fact should keep you from buying there alone. Mr. Anderson has ingnored all our efforts to resolve this issue. That is why I am posting. I do not want anyone else to go through what we have. A puppy called a lemon by the vet more
