Kurth Memorial Library is the local library for Angelina County. So if you live within Angelina County you can check out books from here.
Their system is set up a little different that I am used to. I guess I am used to the bigger cities where everything is done electronically. They still hand stamp the books each time that you go in and you are only allowed to check out 5 books at a time. Needless to say I can read a book in one day if I really like it so I tend to go pretty often to the library now.
When you first get a library card from them they don't issue it the same day that you go in. They send you a post card and you have to bring the post card back in before you can get your permanent library card. Though the first day that you sign up for a card you are allowed to check out two books.
They have a decent selection but one thing that I have found is that they will have part of a series of books and not have the rest. Argh! That frustrates me to no end.
The staff are always friendly and get you checked out as fast as possible (which if everything was done electronically it would be faster but they are still old school here).
