Definitely recommend. I sent my daughter here for a while and she progressed a lot. In fact, now she is in high school and is in the top ten list because of her astounding academic achievements, something school alone could not have done. Mrs. P Singh is a great instructor because she really makes the kids focus. \r I'm sorry to see some of the sad comments from those who have not discovered the full potential of this program. Repetition plays a huge role in this program, and my daughter was below the standard level when she first started and had to repeat worksheets so many times. She cried through the division portion but the repetition really helped get it in her head. \r Overall, money was spent well if you continue to stick to the program. It's not a quick and easy thing, but a very good investment.\r \r Best regards more

Set Your Expectations Realistically 10/21/2011

I am a parent of 3 kids all of whom have been going to Irving Kumon, as their first place to read, write and do maths. 1st kid now for 5 years, 2nd for 4 years and 3rd for 2 years.\r \r My kids are not extra ordinary and I cannot spare more than 5 hours a week on all 3 of them. I am aware when kids lose confidence early with their peers in class it can have a long lasting effect, losing motivation and going into a viscious cycle of sorts. Basically this is what I was looking at a minimum from Kumon and I got it.\r \r What I got from Kumon - Kumon has helped my kids build confidence in their class, the kids started out a step ahead of other kids in their class, having gone to Kumon and maintain this lead todate.\r \r My kids go to a public school and the eldest one has been selected for the Gifted and Talented Track. I have my good and bad days with the instructor there but I know Kumon helped make that happen. She also skipped Grade 1. When it came time for my second kid, her school teacher called us and asked if we will be ok progressing her a grade ahead, they gave her CBE Exam and my second kid also skipped a Grade and is now an year ahead.\r \r We are busy parents and we have not been able to give the time we should have to our kids, but that's exactly why we have been sending them to Kumon. \r \r Over the last 5 years, I have understood that not all Kumons are alike, we moved to NY for a brief period and having tried Kumon there for a while it was very clear - that the Kumon Instructors are the key in defining how good a Kumon is. I have some experience with the Kumon in Euless too and I have come back to Irving Kumon. Kumon's methodology is repetition, practice and more practice and having seen the results we have learnt to be patient with that. Bottomline - If you are ready to understand the Kumon Methodology and trust the Kumon instrucor, giving time to your kids, with a little patience you will reap the benfits. It works.\r \r Giving 4 stars as there is always room for improvement. \r more

Really good 9/19/2011

Well I am surprised to see these kinds of comments about this Kumon.\r \r My son is going to this Kumon for servaral years and I think this is one of the best place to learn.\r My son has been having a perfect score in the Taks exams and staright A in his class works. \r Thanks to Kumon, he is well ahead of all the students in his class when it comes to Math and English.\r \r We were out of the country for couple of months in Summer and we were carrying his Kumon work.\r Ms.Singh actually called us every week(International call)and made sure my son is able to understand his work.\r I don't think I have seen a service like this anywhere else.\r \r I am sure you are not going to see results in couple of months. But Kumon is like planting a fruit tree. \r The yield is going to take some time but there is definitely a good yield after a while.\r I consider every penny I spend on tution fee at this Kumon as a investment.\r \r In a nutshell, this is great service, great place to learn and we love the staff over there. more

It's not worth.... 7/26/2011

My son used to go to this location. The director is not good. She does not pay attention to my kid. She always give repetition work. When ever w ask, her answer is "" your son had lot of mistakes"". Oneday, I asked her to show his math work. She does not show. As parent, I have a right to know what my son did worng, so that I can spare time for my son. She made my son to start all over again. She is robbing the parents with repetition work. I pulled my son and put in another learning center. we are happy now. more

Do not waste time and Money 7/25/2011

Director is very business oriented. I have been sending my daughter for 8 months. They did not teach the concepts. First month, she pretend like, she is really paying attention to the kid. Later on, she behaves like a true business women. My daughter did one wrong in divisions and Preeti made my daughter to repeat from the multiplications. Also, she gives only 2 pages for home work, which means 75 pages per month. She charges $110.00 per month. It's really waste of time and Money. I do not recommend to any to this Kumon. Unless, you are growing the money in your back-yard. Think before you send your kid. more

Not good Waste of time 11/29/2009

Preeti Singh manages it very bad. She is very commercial, we sent our Kids to Irving Kumon for 6 months, they don't teach any thing, infact we lot our time, they made kids memorize same thing for months. My kids used to do good addition, we sent them so that they can learn subtraction, but the lady said, let me start with additions again. In 6 months she taught only adding +1, +2, +3 she even did not teach carry over addition and basic subtraction. Please don't send your kids to Irving Kumon. We parents will assume that they are in good hands and she will teach well. But the pase in which she teaches, it’s very slow, she just wants to make money. Pros: Don't sent your kids Cons: Very commercial more

Not good value for $220 a month 10/29/2009

My kid used to go to Kumon on Kinwest. Not any more. They got so many kids they do not have time for my kid. My kid gets better attention at school then at Kumon. Waste of money. Pros: Throw $220 per month to trash Cons: Rude behaviour. more
