I hope that no one else goes through what I just went through with Kumon of Westport. I enrolled my daughter in the program in Dec. '08. The owner charged me $505 for a 3 month commitment. I cancelled 1/10/09 or tried to cancel. The schedule was extremely limited and my daughter connected the dots for $500? I could have spent $1 at Walmart.) When I spoke with the owner she stated she would look into my refund. Well, she never called me back. It is now Feb. 21 and I called her on her cell phone. She was in Florida and apologized for not calling me back --- in 1 1/2 months??!! Who conducts business like that? \r
NO WHERE in the documentation did it state that there was no refund for the 3 month commitment charge except for the $50 material fee. NO WHERE did it state in the documentation that I had to cancel prior to the first of the month -- all of which she tried to get away with saying to me. She met me the next day. I was with my husband. WELL, I have never been treated so poorly. She was extremely condescending, unprofessional and irresponsible. She did not let me speak --spoke over me the entire time. She returned 2 months worth of tuition she said less fees. Well, she did not get the math right. 505-125-100 is NOT $250 which she gave me, it is $280. She treated me like I was a 2 year old who could not read or understand math and stated that ""no one else EVER had a problem understanding the documentation."" Please, DO NOT sign up for this program, it is AWFUL! (By the way, I have 3 degrees, and one is an M.B.A.) (By the way, I was just accepted to an ivy league to obtain my 4th Master's degree - in EDUCATION.) You do the math!
